Personally I'd go with Honda or Nissan. All the friends that I know that have gotten VW's have had problems with them.

Honda....you cant go wrong, German cars ALWAYS have electrical problems, and are a pain to work on, now a TDI volkswagen I would look into, but the electrical problem is still there....I Say Honda, it will run and run........

Accord, especially if you could get a newer one with the V6 (which i imagine 15 will get you)

thanx everyone...i actually found a pretty good 2002 accord for cheap, EX trim, pretty decent features.

..although, it's not a V6, only a 4 cylinder, but it's fast enough for me

Electrical problems on VW's?!
This is news to me. I drive a VW Golf from '94. Never had any problems with the electrics at all. Maybe an issue with the cars sold in the US?

if I had 15 grand, I'd find a minty 2-door Acura Legend. One HELL of a car. it's very roomy, incredibly comfortable, and powerful as hell. It's one of the few cars that are on my "I WILL have it" list.

and you might even have some cash left over after you buy it too.
