Hi,

Someone must have bumped me in the parking lot the other day, I have a small dent about 4 inches long and two inches high in one of my doors...2001 Honda Accord. There's a scratch but it doesn't look like the paint is chipping or anything. Anyone have any good ways to remove dents?

On dents without any paint damage, I have had good luck with the "Paintless dent removal" type places. They are the guys who specialize in fixing hail damage, and sometimes work out of a service truck and fix your car right in your driveway. If there has not been any hail storms lately, they might cut you a better deal.

They have usually charged me anywhere from $40 to $80 for a dent. The size of the dent does not matter to them, as much as how easy it is to access the back side of the dent. For example it would take them more time to take your door apart to get to the dent, than it would to remove a plastic inner panel if the dent was on your fender.

I fyou take a piece of dry ice and put it in the center of the dent, it may just pop out as the metal contracts enough to return to its original shape. It works best on round dents, but it can still take care of something small like that.

The scratch can be buffed out with some polishing compound.
