Rebuild Updates (w/ pictures)
This is where i'm at so far...
Took everything i could off the engine, now im trying to get the fuel pump off so i can get to the motor mounts. Overview of the situation. http://urbandev.net/rebuild/2.JPG Close-Up of the valley. this shit was so thick when i replaced the heads last summer i had to scrape it out with a spoon. http://urbandev.net/rebuild/6.JPG Mmmm...Healthy.... http://urbandev.net/rebuild/3.JPG Cylinder walls look like they're in pretty good shape, for boring anyway. http://urbandev.net/rebuild/5.JPG Water + Oil = Foam. This is the inside of my right (cyl 1-7) Valve cover. http://urbandev.net/rebuild/8.JPG |
keep in mind that this engine has never been rebuilt so it has surface rust everywhere, and it's a 73, well the truck is a 73, who knows what year the engine is...maybe ill take a look at the stamps when its clean

Seems like your on the right track...I would pull it asap..it's alot easier to fully disassemble on an engine stand. Once you get your engine stripped you can pressure wash it...then get it checked for tolerances, then boiled, magnafluxed and bored :)

Wow amazing it ran with the crap thats in there..If I had the money and space I would pull my 350 in my van....intake is coming off in the next couple of weeks to put the stock one back on should take pictures...LOL!
my 350 is a 88, your is a 73 wow just think of the power you will get when you get it all back together.....how much HP does a 355 put out? |
i decided im just going to rock out with my cock out, and build a 383 stroker. since i have the time, money and machine shop to do so.
