Amazing RC plane
not sure where this should go, not really a hobby forum here
absolutely amazing... http://www.mcgirt.net/RC/VIDEOS/Giant_B52/http://www.mcgirt.net/RC/VIDEOS/Giant_B52/B_52_i.jpg |
That is pretty fucking awesome. I wonder what it cost to build that thing.
|
It doesn't look that great from the picture because you don't get an appriciation of the size unless you notice the runway.
http://www.mcgirt.net/RC/VIDEOS/Giant_B52/B_52_b.jpg That helps out better :) And I'm guessing somewhere in the $5,000 - $10,000 range. |
thats pretty badass...
ive got a lil remote control plane... still needs to be covered and have the guts installed... |
Holy shiat. That's cool. I love the sound it makes as it's flying overhead.
|
Wow. I'm impressed. They sound like real jet engines too, I wonder how they do that.
|
That is like SOOOO UBER.....
I can get into something like this.... |
:) nice! i just don't have the dexterity to build it... wish i did... but godzilla seems to always stomp on my plane somehow....
|
Wow, that's beautiful!
I would be afraid to fly something that expensive, though. |
way more then 5-10k, if it has actual turbines your looking at probably 5k a piece for them.. (depending on the specs) then the aircraft is probably around 8-20 depending on what is all in it, and what it is made out of..
|
This thing is crazy. I think we need to load this up with some warheads and send it to Afghanistan.

Now they just need to install a camera in the cockpit :D

Seems like it would b a pain to land that
|
Speaking of RC Stuff, anyone know where on the net to shop for this stuff? I want to get my son into it, and looking around the other day, it seems that all the hobby stores in the DC area closed since I was a lad...
|
Amazing, the time, detail.
|
Good for long range remote control bombing I assume. That would be great to stuff the bombing bays full of stink bombs and "level" Disneyland or something.
|
Holy cow!! That thing is just freakin' awesome! And I'm not even a fan of rc planes. I am, however, a fan of the B-52. The detail is just phenomenal. I'd be afraid to fly it, for fear of busting it up.
|
I love this.
Planes of this scale and sophistication are making significant contributions to many human endeavors. Here's an example: check out the "PRODUCTS" section. http://www.uav.com/home/index.html |
Now that is one nice RC airplane.
|
Itty bitty jet engines! I wonder if the bomb bay works.
|
That is pretty cool. I would be so afraid to fly it after all the time spent working on it my luck I would crash the thing while trying to land it.
|
I hope all those guys are married 'cause that ain't gonna help 'em get laid.
|
i saw a video of that on milkandcookies.com that plane is fucking incredible!
|
That's pretty cool. Don't be surprised about the jet engines; I've seen gas turbine engines that are about that size. Pretty decent thrust/weight ratio too.
I want a stealth bomber version. |
Wow! I'm very impressed! That's one expensive looking toy. Sounded pretty noisy didn't it? That's means you'd probably have to fly it at an abandoned airstrip or somewhere similar.
|
I didn't believe they made jet engines that small, I thought there was a size requirement. A few minutes and googling later:
http://www.gasturbine.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/page2.htm http://www.rc-airplane-world.com/model-jet-engine.html http://www.dynopower.freeserve.co.uk/homepages/jet.htm |
Impressive links! Thanks for posting them.
|
Here's the link the manufacturer of the jet engines for the plane
http://www.wren-turbines.com/ amazing |
They really do need a camera in the cockpit.
Amazing still though |
I'd be carpet bombing the ducks down at the park here so hard if I owned one of those.

haha carbet bombing that's awesome |
Fly it over Germany and see how they react. :D
|
thread moved to tilted motors
|
Woah... amazing
|
Now this is awesome. Can't believe that thing existed! WOW

Man that is so cool....I my world I wonder with it being so small how tight the tolerance specs must be for a jet engine.
Must someone who would fly these things atleast on that scale have a license of some sort. |
thats pretty freakin sweeet
|
i've seen that at an RC airshow before :D

|
downloaded the movie files ...and.... this thing even sounds like a real aeroplane
freaky hobby Cheers |
If you guys are interested in getting into model airplanes, boats, cars, etc. go to towerhobbies.com. I use to fly prop planes for a while when I lived in CA. Now I live in AZ and it's too hot to fly! I do have a couple gas cars though.
