oh yeah, the engine is a 350 with a Q-jet 650 and edelbrock torker 2 intake

How bad is the body rot? Interior? Rest of the suspension components? All in all it doesn't sound like a bad deal though. Figure around $2000 for the motor, $600-$800 for the trans, few hundred for the exhaust, few hundred for wheels and tires, etc.

I'd also find out where that crate engine came from. Sounds like he may have bought a crate shortblock, so who knows what the heads and such are like. A 650 qjet and a torker II is a combination you're NOT going to get on a crate engine, so it may have just been cobbled together. Swapping that intake for a dual plane will definitely improve your low end/towing though.

The price seems more than fair if you have a need for a large SUV. Someone spent a lot of money on the eng/trans. What about the brakes, transfer case etc...

Can be very hard on fuel, 6-8 MPG. If you live in the north carbs are sometimes hard to start.

cast transfer case, seems pretty solid

front disk brakes, rear drum 1/2 ton rear end

he got the engine then the intake and used the old carb, im getting reciepts next weekend for all the shit hes done to it

interior is pretty good, seats original apolstry is torn here and there but it has really nice seat covers that seem made for the seats(even the goofy fold down seats)

the headlines in the front was taken out, which i dont really care about and the back is fine

deffinatly not intended to be a commuter...

If thats the case, I'd probably go for it. I was looking for one ages ago for a tow vehicle, but decided I should wait until I can afford a newer truck instead.

Already bought it.
just figured i would verify my decision with you guys :)
