Yea, that does look like blood on the windshield (and the concrete barrier behind - the presence of the ambulance seems to confirm that.

The red paint on the wall has been there in turn 12 at Road Atlanta for a while. That is not blood but should be. Dumbass probably panicked coming down the hill and lifted or braked instead of riding it out. I accelerate down this hill at about 100 mph when giving BMW school students rides.

At last, my car is finally faster than a Lamborghini.

How did he manage to do that? m5man,could you elaborate? I mean, it looks like he almost deliberately turned opposite the direction of the curve...?

Patently not a track car, just like every Lamborghini, ever.

That's not fair. It's easy to blame the car (I should know, I drive a Geo Prizm), but the driver is clearly at fault here. How many ferraris have you driven on the track?

That turn doesn't really look like anything that should cause a problem. Its not real steep, not even a very sharp turn and doesn't appear to have anything scary coming up. I just don't see how that could happen unless the driver did something really stupid. But hey, half the car is still good :D Looks like the engine might have survived, save for a few dings. I'd be willing to take that car off his hands if he wanted :)

Its very understandable that he came over the hill, panicked, and started braking. That caused him to spin out of control. The turn looks long and leisurely from these photos, but I bet it doesn't when you're going 100+ mph. From personal experience, those types of turns can be very scary the first few times.

Which is why it would behoove the overly rich dinks who buy them to go SLOW the first few times around instead of trying to impress everyone with their racing prowess.

Damn... I think something went wrong with the car, honestly. It is a strait line, as if he could not turn the wheels or something. I guess he won't be racing on tracks in the future. Makes a good lesson ;)

I don't think that's blood on the windshield. If someone hit their head on it, or went into it going that fast, it would have shattered or at least cracked. Also, if you look carefully, it looks like its the same red paint on the wall to the left. The lifted door blocks the glare like on the rest of the windsheild.

if he was racing it, he could afford to crash it... assuming he isnt compleatly stupid... i would fallow along with this line here and say it dosnt suprise me to see someone lost it in a Lamborghini, i have never heard of them being a track car in anyway shape or form. thanks for a good post though!

turn 12 at Road Atlanta is very scary if you are not familiar with it. There is a very steep drop starting at the bridge and you see nothing but sky for a few seconds after you apex the turn .. if you lift or break you will easily spin out in a car that is ass heavy like a Lambo, Porsche .. hell any car if you freak out.

Your totally right, that car should be able to handle that corner at 120 easy. He probably juiced it up over the hill, extened his suspension on the crest, and instead of briefly letting up on it, and then hitting it when the suspension was at it's max compression, he probably braked hard and cranked the wheels opposite direction of the track....spin...and wall. I bet his foot never left the brake since the moment he hit it. The interesting thing is that he had the car backwards before it even left the track.

Eitherway, this was 100% driver error (That's the Diable VT, he broke all 4 wheels loose)

Yikes! I wonder if track time is insured. Anybody know?
