As long as it is not 2 wheel drive. 2 wheel drive Jeeps are stupid.

it's 4WD, though driven by electric motors... but that is the wave of the future, and it's just a CONCEPT car, not anything that is going to reach production... i don't know how i feel about the tapered cab, but i do like the way the bikes attach (see the 2nd page) it keeps them more out of the way and wind.

Looks like a toy.

Nothing will ever come of that piece of crap.
Tokyo auto shows are notorious for having weird shit like that from car companies. I'm sure they loved it over there. If it showed up in Detroit someone would get shot!

Peryn 12-12-2003 08:22 AM

heh, that thing is funny. You can pretty much be garuanteed it was built ENTIRELY for that show, with no basis in reality.

What the hell is that???

Moonduck 12-12-2003 09:12 AM

Saw pics of this silly thing a while back. It still triggers the "WTF?" response.

Esoteric 12-12-2003 09:36 AM

That is uh..something else. :hmm:

Don't worry it's just a concept. The way Chrysler is going, if they keep rollling out the duds like the Pacifica, Crossfire, and Durango, they will have to sell off Jeep.

Electric 4X4's do make sense though. Electric motors have 100% of the torque as soon as they start moving. Center of gravity and ground clearance are way better.

I know my old Land Rover couldn't go where this electric one can.

These pics are taken from a stand still.

I think in a few years a hybrid gas electric 4X4 with the motors in the hubs will be the one heck of a rock crawler.

Ilow 12-12-2003 07:50 PM

damn that thing's ugly. Cool Rover pics, though.

Rippley 12-16-2003 05:14 AM

Treo is the name of a tylenol-type painkiller here in Denmark...

Cycler 12-16-2003 07:40 AM

Yeah I love those electric motors for torque purposes. Toyota seems to have a hit with their hybrid. I think it is only a matter of time before they spread everywhere. <p>The Land Rover pics were cool.

thadon 12-16-2003 09:12 AM

damn ugly ass concept, they better not make it

Scorps 12-16-2003 09:33 AM

Damn can someone post the pics I can't view the webpage its locked out.....thinks there is porn on the page........FUCKING THING, gotta get that fixed!

heyharry 12-18-2003 11:42 PM

Pictures? Hardly needed. Looks like a chrome golf cart with a vertical grill panel. Sure, I'd love to take it out on the course, though. Really make finding golf balls in the rough fun AND easy!

wrongfullyaccuzd 12-19-2003 12:24 AM

Looks like an RC...can someone tell me what the point is of making concept cars like that which clearly have no aspirations of reaching production??
