If you could have any car, ever.....
.....what would it be?
ONE car, price being no object, any year, mint condition. I'm going to have to go with a 1968 Yenko Super Camaro 427 4-speed, blue with white Yenko stripes :D |
If the Batmobile were really powered by a gas turbine, I'd say that one. Gas turbines are cool.
In the real world, I'd like a Mercedes SL500. |
(broken record)
mclaren f1 (/broken record) :D |
Speed Racer's Mach 5, of course
And maybe a Ferrari 312t, with full access to Monza or Fiorano and a shiatload of parts |
Porsche gt3 .... mmmmmm
|
BMW 850 CSI, accept no substitutes.
|
Honda Civic.
Yeaaaaaaaaaaahhhh..... j/k I'd go for this: http://www.sigpc.net/v6/n2/images/lexus-concept.jpg You said any car... |
you guys rule.....very creative...that Minority Report Lexus would be quite unique to actually own.
|
Koenigseg CC:
http://www.koenigsegg.com/media/45_640.jpg Smokes a Mclaren, and it's only rival is a 987hp Bugatti Veyron. |
|

Just call it the Swedish Supercar. |
Actully, it's spelled right, it's just missing the last g, 2 g's at the end, forgot it apparently. I only know how it's spelled because I have a huge poster of it above my computer desk.. haha
|
Yeah, that is one badass car... to be fair though, the McLaren is like a decade old...
Wouldn't it be nice to be incredibly rich? ;) |
Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren (luxury, style, speed)
|
BMW Dinan M5 S2
|
Porsche 911 turbo (an everyday supercar)
|
1981 Datsun B210
Rockin gas mileage, incredible hamster power, sleek styling. UHHHHHH NA NA NA NA
|
OH Yeah
My old Datsun icense plate cover said "Do it in a Datsun" ROCKIN!!!!!
|
Oh, can I change my mind?
I just realized that I should probably go for what my current desktop is... http://www.autointell.com/european_c...front_view.jpg It wouldn't hurt BMW to produce the Z9 one bit. |
Pretty much anything made by Cord in the 30's. Unbelievably gorgeous cars.
|
Lotus 340R :D

I think I'd go for a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette with the L88 427BB. Make 630+ hp from the factory. Worth a small fortune today.
Other than that, Audi's RS6 tickles my fancy, too. |
67 Toyota 2000GT
|
I'm not sure I could live only picking one car.
However, for the sake of argument fodder (and to piss off the chevy guys)... '67 Shelby GT350 |
Wow, so similar to my choice
'67 Shelby GT500 Eleanor http://phoenix.ircforall.org/images/...leanor1007.jpg |
The Moeller 2500. It's a car/hovercraft/airplane. Unfortunately, the product line was cancelled after 9/11. In this regard the terrorists won. I don't get my flying car.

|
Finally...a few more old American-made muscle-car guys!
And I may be a Chevy guy, but the Shelbys were BADASS cars :D Nice pic. |
MAXIMOG w/- trailer (thanks Phred)
http://www.maximog.com/images/sublevel/34_view_big.jpg or this... http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/large/1581-4.jpg |
Easy. Porsche 959.
Actually, perhaps not so easy. The 959 or the McLaren F1? Nope, still gotta go with the 959. |

The factory and showroom is just around the corner from us. I'm gonna get Jinya out there soon. :D |
After mentioning Cords to soothe my cargeek aesthetics, I will also mention the "General Lee". I am such a redneck at heart when it comes to cars, but after seeing one of the actual cars from the show at a local car show today, I am reminded of how much my burgeoning sex drives were confused by that show and that car. While every other young male my age was watching the show lusting after Daisy Duke, I wanted the car.
I am a car guy. |
A 1967 Ford Cobra Tunnel Port 427. OMG the thought of driving one of these makes me harder than Chinese algebra.
Or...... Anything built by Bob Foose YEEHAW!!!!!!!! |
I would cheat and research the most expensive, easiest to sell car and then sell it. :)
However, to pick a perfect daily driver it's hard to go with a Dinan M5. |
|
Debaser, it's a Dodge Tomahawk. Four, independently suspended wheels and the (600bhp?) V10 engine from a viper. I saw a film of one wobbling around in a warehouse, and can't wait for someone to find the courage to go outside with it.
If I might be controversial for a moment, the Koenigsegg is a little porky and does in no way smoke the F1. The car has been out for a while now, and still no independently-verified top speed figure exists to my knowledge. To hit its own improbable, estimated top speed, the Veyron will require you first to pull over, phone Bugatti, and wait. A Bugattiman will arrive with four new wheels and tyres and discreetly fit them while you start psyching yourself up. F1, please:) |
Ford GT40, the Ferrari Killer.
|
I'll second the GT40 vote, though I would prefer one of the classic ones from Le Mans in the Gulf paint scheme. I get wood just thinking about that car.
|
my #1 right now is the Ferrari Enzo...then the Mclaren F1
|

As for me, I'll take a 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T Hemi. If I can't get one of the 13 that were made with the Hemi, I'll take a '67 GTO convertible with tripower engine. My uncle has one of those. |
|
M5 Pls. In this blue or black maybe.

1973 BWM 3.0 CSi
Amazing car with a lovely rear window.
|
1984 Ford Pinto with a pinstripe package, and lotsa chrome. Or an H2

Hmmm. The BMWs are nice; if I couldn't have my DeLorean, I think I'd definitely buy one.
|
The motorcycle above is a prototype Dodge Tomahawk! It sports the Viper v-10 engine and is supposed to go 300+ MPH but they haven't found anybody that will test it.
It is one of the most beautifully designed machines I have ever seen. |
What's a Ford GT40? You mean the GT? :P
Anyways, those who like the Enzo and 959, a brake job for the Enzo is a nice 57k, while ONE wheel for the 959 is 20k. That being said, Koenigsegg hands down, with the S7 second. |
that Mercedes SLR McLaren is quite a purdy car ;) I'd roll one of those. Eitehr that or the McLaren F1.
|
I'll go a different route, and take all of your cars on... on a dirt track... :)
http://www.swrt.com/cpimages/365139.jpg |
1968 Mustang Mach-1. 351 Cleveland, 4bbl, C-4 trans, Dark Blue with twin stripes down the top.
|
Subaru Impreza WRX STI Lazer Blue with gold rims! :)
|
Ruf R Turbo. I would kill for one of those things.
|
Mmm, 22b Subie... *drools*
|

Good luck finding a real one, only the Mk.III is road legal, and they made just 7 of them. If you see one on the road, you can be 99.9% sure its a replica (see a nice example here: http://www.gt40.co.nz ). That said, I'd love to have one, but I'd be afraid to drive it. As far as a replica..its not worth it for such an uncomfortable car, maybe as a second car, but I wouldnt drive it much. If I had to pick a car I'd actually drive, I'd pick the BMW M1. Heres some pics a friend of mine took of one while we were at Laguna Seca a few weekends ago: http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-9/394975/M1BMW1.JPG http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-9/394975/M1BMW2.JPG |

Awesome.... I want one! |
Would we have to keep the car?
If not: Bugatti Veyron, then sell it, get a vette, 5-series BMW, and a Mercedes Sl-500 If we kept it: Ferrari Enzo. |
Not exactly a car, but i'll take pointfourfive up on his offer :-P
http://www.geiserbros.com/BS_238_Side_view.jpg http://www.geiserbros.com/BS_242_S_Skeleton.jpg http://www.geiserbros.com/BS_239_RF_view.jpg That's some serious mobbin' power there. Makes me cry thinking about it. |
definetly have to be a 1957 Chevrolet Corvette. with the stock small block with fuel injection
or a 63 vette sting ray. first year of the sting rays :D |

Bugatti EB110 for me please. quad turbo'd=fun
|
My pick HAS to be Koenigsegg CC
Not only does it smoke the McLaren F1, but it only costs 1/3 of a McLaren too... |
I'd have to say give me a Ferrari Enzo
