Squeak in the rear

Hey guys, another one on my 96 Lumina here.

I noticed this a few weeks ago. Whnever I go over a speed bump or a dip in the road, my car squeaks. The noise is what I'd expect from reasoning it'd be bad shocks, but nothing makes noise when I push down on the car and release etc. The other day I had a rare instance of people riding in the back seat, and every small roll in the road and driveway I pulled into made it happen, resulting in an alsmot constant squeaking symphony. I'm taking it in to get it checked out this week, but would like to hear ideas about what the problem would be if anyone has any info on this.

Possibly worn bushings. This could cause pieces of metal to rub against each other (making noise). Or sometimes the bushings themselves become squeeky. Your rear suspension might just need to be lubed up. Most people never do that.

Yup, worn bushings. Generally a fairly inexpensive thing to fix, and can usually be done at home with a modicum of handtools and ability.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the info, I hate going into the shop clueless.

A quick google shows several lumina's needing their bushings replaced about my milage, so I'm hoping that's the worst it can be.
