Its better than a cown vic though. |
That back end is *ugly*.
Not much for the token wood veneer, either. |
I'm shocked that holden would come out with a car so bland.... Look at the rest of thier line up, nothing this drab.
|
Spyder, it's called "understated elegance." I like it.
|
cross between a town car and a crown vic
very boring... |
Do you have to be at least 65 years old to buy it? Looks like an old man's car.
|
looks like it's made in 1980 or 1970 with nice paint.. interior looks huge though
|
Yeah a Statesman is like an old mans car. Kinda the same market as a town car. They use the GEN3 engine that is from the Corvette. These are nice cars, but have really bad resale value.
And for Halx benefit here are some pix of the sports model that holden make. Uses thet same engine and makes just over 300hp. http://www.holden.com.au//images/upl.../img_ss_04.jpg http://www.holden.com.au//images/upl.../img_ss_05.jpg |
holden makes greater cars than any other company.
|
Holden Statesman is Ok
but if you want to get really serious go for a HSV! |
Is it just me or do the taillights on that SS model look an AWFUL lot like a Civic's?
|
ss is nice, this "normal" one ugly...
I hate the interior look... half luxurious/half budget .hmm what the hell ? |
first of all, i´m fairly shocked to see this aussie classic here.
is holden even sold in the US? or is it rebadged as Pontiac? can someone fill me in here...? the Statesman has always been the high end holden. for the successful businessman who still enjoys the strength and reliability of a holden. the SS is sexy... although i prefer the GTO and GTS (and the monaro, of course) heres the GTS http://www.hsv.com.au/cars/vx2/coupe/gts/alt/hero.jpg and the GTO http://www.autogazeta.com/c/8/b/gto2.jpg btw, in the course of researching these pics, i kind of answered my above questions. from what i just gathered, Holdens are changed slightly and rebadged as Pontiacs in the US (i think - please tell me if this is wrong). |
Yeah that right, holden are just starting to sell the Monaro in the US. Badged as a Pontiac. They have had some pretty mixed reviews. I cant remember where I was reading it, but some yanks are kicking up a fuss about a aussie built Pontiac. Holden are exporting cars like the statesman to the middle east. Rebadged as Chev Lumina (i think). They are selling really well, cause they love the v8 powered long wheel base cars there. I guess that it just goes to show how far the aussie made cars have come in the past 10 years.
|
the 1st one's backend has an uncanny resemblence to a jetta
|
Yeah i heard some yanks were pissed that the monaro looked too 'bland' for their liking, like it wasnt worthy to wear the GTO badge
