Enough exterior shots.....let's see the INTERIOR of your cars

I'm a bit of a fanatic about keeping my car clean, which ain't easy with an all-black interior.

Even though it's almost old enough to buy smokes for itself at the corner store, I still like the inside of my ride (after updating the steering wheel and shifter):

So....let's see some others' interiors.....don't be shy. Go find your digital camera and post some pics.

It's not a loose speaker wire. 928s (mine's an automatic...80% of 928s are) have something known as a "kickdown switch". When the gas pedal is floored, the switch is activated and forces the tranny to drop down and hold the lowest gear possible without over-revving.

The wire is from a splice I put in so that I can activate the switch without going wide-open-throttle. If you look closely, you can see the chrome switch just above the right hand side of the driver's seat. When activated, my car will hold each gear until redline, rather than shifting much earlier. 1st gear holds until about 45 or 50 mph, 2nd until about 85 or so.

The wire goes up into the center console, then appears again where the switch is located. The blue connectors are where I spliced into the original switch's wiring.

Coucher: nice job keeping your rides neat and tidy!

The brake is there, it's just behind that little shelf beneath the steering wheel.

Just the way the camera angle captured it.

What can I say, its a work in progress

I have custom door panels, but I popped them out so I didn't get resin from the dash on them. The grill cloth and resin you see there cover the basic shell of the existing dash minus a LOT of material. It was completely reworked, reshaped, with the original radio/control box shaved and a control panel/stereo up in the center where the heater vents used to be. Even with the resin and fiberglass (pic is a few days outdated), the whole thing weighs in (without head unit) at 5.5lbs. All wiring was gutted and tediously redone, and the dash will be the only interior piece done before the cage goes in, because I downright can't do it after teh cage goes in.

It'll be one of the few cars with an interior you'll see in the 8's in the 1/4, but with the removable interior pieces and lightweight materials, we're looking at maybe 30lbs for the entire interior.

BTW, it may not look it, but there is at least several hundred hours into the wiring and dash alone, its an ongoing process that will be finished in 3-4 years hopefully, most of the setback being the fact that I can only work on it 3 months out of the year (live in CT, go to school at Ohio State.)
