Help with car amp, Remote connection is inversed (Got grounded out)

I have an amp in my car. I was adjusting with some settings of the bass and so forth on the amp itself, and I was checking the connection on all the wires to make sure they were tight before finishing up. I didn't disconnect the amp, because I had it running while I was testing the levels, but while I was checking the remote screw for tightness, it touched the amp and grounded it out. The amp turned off. I pulled the face off, turned everything off, and the amp turned back on. I put the face back on thinking it reset itself, but it turned back off. So now the remote connection on it is reversed, when there is power it turns off, but when there is no power it turns on. (not the best combination) Does anyone know how I can fix this so it works normally again? Any help with this from someone who knows these things is greatly appreciated.

What kind of amp? Could be a couple of small transisters! had a problem like this once!

It's hard to say without looking at it but I would guess you fried a diode..... a diode is sort of a check valve of electricity, allowing power to flow one way and not the other..... or maybe you fried a connection on the power relay, does it still click when it powers up? either way it's just a guess......

Actually I think I read it wrong off the amp after looking up models alpine has. It's a MRV-F407
