Mercedes CLK 430 & 320
 

Thinking of buying one. Would like to know if anyone has feedback or reviews of these two vehicles.

Which one do you prefer?

If you can shoot for the CLK55. There is really no point in investing in the 320. I think the engine is too weak for that car.

I see that you're lookin' into the last generation CLK. You don't like the newer body style??

IMO I think the last generation CLK's look much better than the newer ones. They just don't cut out for me.

My friend owns a 2001 CLK430. He bought one used with 40K miles for around 37,000 which is a great deal. It also came with extended waranty and all.

My only concern about this car is that it is an automatic so it's not as fun to drive. But don't get me wrong, this car is fast as shiet!! :D

I heard they were, I haven't even test driven one yet! I wanted my TFP buddies to help me out!

I think i like the older style as well, $37,000 is ideal! I've yet to drive a Benz that i haven't liked, i just wish i could afford the one that i want...SL55!!!

He absolutely loves it. But the car is horrible in the snow coz of the RWD.

No I haven't driven the C's! I figure if your gonna get one why not go for the top end of the food chain!

Luckily, I live in Florida...NO F'N SNOW! I've had my share of that stuff, now i feel like i live on vacation!

my friend has a 320.. last year's generation though.. but it's still pretty damn fast even though it's the lowest model.. check that out too if you want

Well since I sell them I would tell you STAY AWAY from the new bodys. Way to many problems so far(I see the problems the public doesn't)

The 320 is way to under powered and the 430 is a NICE car, but the 55.....well lets just say..........HOLY SHIT!!

If you buy a used one get it from a dealer that way it is Starmarked and the warranty will cover the car up to 100k.

wait man, you have to enlighten us a little bit on this point (I'm a MB evangelist and definitely want to hear why you say this)

If you talk to the mechanics and take a good look at a service bay you will understand.

Basically these cars have way to many problems with their computer programs...........THEY SUCK!!

Any real Mercedes Mechanic will tell you that Mercedes Benz is whoring out their cars and just building to damn many models.

They are rushing these cars to prodution and hoping the problems will fix themselves before to many get on the road.

The biggest problems right now are the programs they are writing for the systems.....they are doing way to much, and when you bring it in for service since Mercedes has no answer they just have the techs reset the programs and hope it works for awhile.

Any tech (honest one that is) will tell you don't buy a new one till at least the second model year.

On a personal note I don't like the interior ergonomics of the CLK's and I think Mercedes rushed this one. Look how far they have fallen in complaints per hundred cars sold............shit man they are at the bottom of the list 68 complaints out of a hundred cars is not good quality or workmanship if you consider they had only 22 just five years ago.


Find an old body and enjoy it, if I wanted a nice Cabriolet I would find a old E Class Cab.....that was one sweet looking ride, and the engine is one of the best ones they have built:)
