Which is a better car
I'm looking to get a new car I have narrowed it down to two cars..
Audi A4 or Saab 93 Which of the two is better???? |
Run- They will both die quickly
(Rock And A Hard Place) |
I would go with the Audi A4.
A4
I know a couple of people with A4's and they have had problems with them. My ex has a Saab, never had even one problem with it. Go with the Saab. Besides, it looks better.
Audi - holds value better
id' go for a subaru wrx.
I'm w/ limebo in the WRX
but my buddy just bought an A4 and he loves it ... so A4 |
A4's are nice, can't speak on the 9 3
I'd go with the Saab 9-3. Better car. I work in a dealership that carries both lines. Get the Saab.
9-3 for sure. I love the new design.
9-3, no matter what anyone says about turbocharged cars theres nothing more fun than slamming the pedal down on an open stretch of road, hearing the turbo spool up and feeling your guts plastered against your spine while the scenery flys by. and you wil be thoroughly impressed by the cupholders in the saab. aslo Auidi is notorious for terribly non-responsive feeling steeing systems. the only downside i see to the saab is that its front wheel drive which is actually an advantage if you live in a snowy area. the 2003 model year 9-3 has a lot of improvements over previous models so if you are looking to get new then its definitely the way to go. if you are interested in a slighly higher end car i would seriously consider the Volvo S60R it is essentially a marketing tool for volvo to change their image (people tend to think differently when they see a 300hp volvo) also its all wheel drive. and the volvo is more of a nice car for the sake of being a nice car rather than the status symbol that a new audi or saab might seem to be.
Both the Saab and the A4 have turbo's. The main difference is that Saab really is out-dated with their engines and tranies. Audi is a much better ride. Go with the A4 Quatrro 3.0. The torbo engine is noce, but you have to put premium in and the lag on both of them is not that great. The V6 engine is much better and stable. Plus you get 4 years of free oil changes with Audi vs Saab none.

what a4 and what saab Saab 9 3 ?
saab is more expensive so a "cheaper" version of saab equals value of an expensive version of audi... |
I recently bought a car (2004 Subaru WRX) and I test drove both the Audi A4 and the Saab 9-3. I thought the Saab had the nicest interior but the engine was a total let down. When test driving it when I accelerated it felt really slow. I like the Audi, however it was more than I wanted to pay for a car. The WRX however had rediculous hp for the size of the car and was fun to drive. When Saab gets the Subaru made 9-2 I might look at getting that for a next car if it has the power the 9-3 lacks. Between the A4 and the Saab, I would get the A4.
I say go with the A4. Audis have better ride quality IMO
I'd go for the 9-3. A friend of mine's parents both have Saabs. One is starting to fall apart after hitting 300,000 miles, the other is going strong after 120k. Another friend recently got one, and he loves it. No mechanical problems in either case, great ride, and nice style. Plus, I love the sound of the turn signal clicking.
I also think the Audi is ugly. Just my 2 cents. Edit: Nevermind, I was thinking of the A6. |
i was concidering getting an A4 a few months ago...but i heard some stuff that really turned me off of them. just many things breaking down when they shouldnt. i'll try to dig up some site i found that labeled many of the "routine" problems that could end up costing you a good amount in the long run.
Audi A4, if you live in the snow, Quattro is awesome.
GM owns 49% if Saab... 'nuff said.
I've heard great things about the Saabs.
Go the AUDI
Saabs are for hairdressers:lol: |
make sure to tell us what u end up with...

VW owns audi.... look at recent trends in automotive quality and you'll be surprise to find that GM and quickly climbing the ladder. Cadillac jumped from #9 to #2 in JD power rankings. but, if you are going to let your ignorance make your decisions, it is your loss. BTW, go w/ the saab, more distinctive. |

I don't trust Saab. |

If GM owning 49% of Saab is your reason for not wanting to buy, you're not making a very educated decision. American cars were not always high quality in the past. That has changed. |
How about neither!
Took 3 Audis less then two years on trade this past couple of weeks and each client was UNHAPPY with the perfomance and reliability. If you really want the Audi, just buy a VW, save a few bucks and deal with the crappy suspension. Saab...well what can I say.....it's a SAAB.....nuff said. |
I think the A4. My friend has a TT and it is hella nice. Great craftsmanship. And I think the A4 looks better.

well, i see we're all agreed then. i'm more confused than ever and these are the two cars i've been lookin at.
Here, let's clear up the confusion. Put the Audi on the black list, forget about it, and go to your local Saab dealer, and pick up the 9-3 Vector.
On the quality issue with Saab, either you have really good luck with your car, and have nothing wrong for the life of the car, or you have nothing but troubles. Plus servicing it is rather expensive. There's always something that happens to need changed or replaced that is not covered. I've hear too many horror stories about Saabs breaking down etc.
I'll second saving a few more pennies and buying the S60R
Saab as a company is nothing compared to what it once was. IMO GM have handled the marque exceptionally badly, and the current range shares a lot of major components with some godawful GM rubbish. Despite this fact, a hard-won image built up with rally wins, aero-technology and quirky, left-field styling and ergonomics lingers on. Once the intelligent alternative to Audi/BMW, this badge is now a sorry shadow of its former self. Don't buy one!
The A4 is like all Audis. Great build quality, cast-iron residuals and reliability, tasteful, inoffensive styling. The dynamics of all current Audis are poor. They just can't seem to build an involving chassis, or achieve a halfway reasonable ride (check this spoof story for an idea: www.sniffpetrol.com). As part of the VW group, Audi shares many components with less prestigious marques. If you want the essential qualities of the A4, you can buy them much more reasonably from Skoda, Seat, and to a lesser extent VW themselves. I wouldn't go near an A4 - it's a waste of money. I myself would buy a BMW 3 series, were I in your positiion. An independant, high quality company. BMW's just drive so much better than the competition. Rear wheel drive means the front wheels only have to steer, and thus stay uncorrupted by the transmission of power. Result - much more feel through the wheel, much more fun to be had whatever sort of driving you do. The resale price will be excellent, all the more so because BMW are currently trying to ruin everything by going systematically through their range and hitting everything hard with a big Fugly stick. Chris Bangle has a lot to answer for. So buy a 3 now, before that gets ruined, and sell it when you're ready for lots of cash to someone who yearns for the days back in '03 when they made them look good as well as drive nicely. |
A4
i reckon the audi :)
9-3, for reliability, quality and feel. The A4 is alright, but I'd pick the saab any day. Then again I'm swedish.
definetly get the a4...my mother in law has one and they are definetly quick little cars. plus you cant go wrong with the quatro and the bose stereo...
Haven't driven the Saab yet, but I've had some experience with the A4. Love the blend of sportiness and luxury, and the car just feels like it is quality all over. Get the A4!
