Holy hell, it's the Mustang tech all over again!

Yup, just read this on the [H]ardForums. Nasty stuff. I'd be so pissed. The shop and the two guys will get taken to the cleaners, I'm sure...but, sad ending to a wonderful car.

tfin 07-09-2003 12:20 PM

Fuck yeah he should get money for emotional distress. It is not like he has to see a tharipist for that shit but it still pisses a person off. And fuckers like that body shop guy need to be made an example. To me my car is something I have scrimped and saved and sacrificed many things for. I have worked lots of over time when I could have been hanging with my friends, skimped on fun just to save some extra cash. Some peoples cars are life choices. They are not always just extra money they had sitting around. I also believe that a man's car is just something you just don't fuck with. Sort of that unwriten code.

laconic1 07-09-2003 04:49 PM

Oh that is fucked. I work at a Chevy dealer and one time a few years ago a guy brought in a '96 Camaro SS since it was running rough. Once the technician got the car fixed one of the other techs decided to see how fast it was. (It had been modded for SCCA racing) The idiot lost it at 85 mph, spun around and hit a curb. The wheel, axle and if I remember right, Panhard bar were broken. Needless to say the guy didn't work there after that. Before this that was the worst I had seen or heard of.

theanticrust 07-10-2003 09:24 AM

I can't believe the bastard didn't even get hurt in the crash!! That's the annoying part to me.

etla 07-10-2003 10:25 AM

Happens all the time. Ask anyone who has been in the autobody business for a while about people "test driving" paint jobs. Still I wouldn't want to be walking around dark alleys if I was the tech responsible.

VirFighter 07-11-2003 07:25 PM

Fucking with another man's car... and a corvette at that!

I hope the punk that does this burns in hell, he certainly should.

I really hope that poor vette owner knows a good lawyer and can the money that he deserves. He deserves way more than just a new car in my opinion.
