Next car - 2011

I'm about to replace my 1998 Accord. So far I'm looking at new Accords and the Acura TL. What else should I be considering?

AquaFox 06-07-2010 08:23 PM

nissan altima, chevy impala or malibu, toyota camry

Cynthetiq 06-07-2010 08:44 PM

Hyundai Genesis

Lexus, Infinity

I drove an Infiniti G37 over the weekend back in April and found it to be a lot of fun. However, I found the suspension a little tight for comfortable long-distance driving.

2011 Ford Taurus is niiiiiice...

AquaFox 06-08-2010 09:17 AM

do you have a max price range? I'm assuming you want to stay fairly close in terms of type of car?

spiderman 06-08-2010 10:36 AM

upper is probably 40-45K

Well, being in the same class of the Accord (and the Acura?), and while keeping to the Japanese, be sure to check out the Subaru Legacy, the Toyota Camry, and Mazda6. This would be my order of preference.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Accord though.

Yeah. I saw the interior at the dealership ... OMG it's a whole different car. The Taurus is very nice. I never thought I'd say that.

nice to see Ford stepping up their game. I know they can do it.

As an alternative to the Accord, in sort of the Euro-sport version of it, consider the TSX. My wife has one and we both love it. I've had a few Accords but the TSX is a notch above.

I've been in love with the '08-Present Accord Coupes. When I finally get a job with a steady paycheck I'll definitely get one. Test drove the V-6 model in standard and auto... fantastic drive.

Yeah the Taurus is an interesting car. For one thing it is big inside, really spacious in every direction. Another thing is it is damn near SILENT when driving down the road. The SHO model (~40k) with AWD and twin-turbos has cooled front seats (and heated rear seats) that shoot jets of air-conditioned air up through the perforations in the seat. I test drove the car and I have to say having cool jets of air blowing up one's ass was not an altogether unpleasant sensation. Probably good for monkey butt on those long trips across the desert. There's a video circulating the net somewhere about a guy who travels cross country in a SHO with his dog in the backseat. He said the car was good for long distance traveling.

The Acura TSX...aka the Accord Royale. :)

I'd go either Ford Taurus SHO or Cadillac CTS V

For that price range the 328i deserves a look. Of course i'm always partial to a Subaru but you may not need the AWD.
