So there you have it, folks. Maybe they should think about making that GSX-R engine standard equipment.

Hmmm
I know a company that has 2 ordered to use as delivery vehicles. Sounds like they should get their deposits back.

The author of this article is way too American to drive this car. Seriously.

A friend of mine already has the ForTwo, and he averaged about 35 mpg his first week, and over 40 mpg his second. This is because he learned how to drive it: not like a track car. If you floor a three banger at every traffic stop, you're killing your gas mileage. If you shift late, to access the upper end horsepower, you're killing your gas mileage. If you race every soccer mom that pulls up next to you: yeah, you're killing your gas mileage. The only way to average under 35 mpg in this car is to drive it too fast and have a passenger, in tandem. So let this be a lesson to anyone interested in this car: don't make the amateur mistake the author of this article made. Drive like an adult.

All of this aside, I'd really like to see the diesel version brought over. The damn thing gets 74 mpg highway and has a 0-60 of 9.9 seconds. Those stats are hard to argue with.

74 mpg!! Holy shit that would be sweet. And I know what you mean willravel, it seems like everyone who has a problem with gas mileage drives like a 16 year old who just got his license.

Screw that, I am way too immature to drive like an old man. Give me something that has some pep in its step.

That's fine, just don't expect to get 50 mpg. There are plenty of reasonably priced cars that have get-up-and-go: Caliber SRT4, Subaru WRX, MazdaSpeed3, Nissan 350Z, VW GTI... the list goes on and on. They won't get you much above 30 mpg, though.

That's why I'm so in favor of the ForTwo diesel. It's the best bang for your buck.
