Test results! '07 Aveo Budget Rental SE
 

Sets the new mark in the "shitbox" category. The engine responds to the accelerator with hooveresque power, and a roar to match. FM radio and manual windows finish the interior, and the high center of gravity showcase the cars billboard-like handling. Traction is much improved by the simple means of eliminating the ability to either accelerate or brake hard. The blood red exterior is a giveaway to the fact this baby won't get more than 23 mpg. Not since the Vega has Chevrolet had such an obvious winner in the Shitbox category as the Aveo Budget Rental Shitbox Edition.

does it also come in an "LE" version?

..........but at least it has 4 cylinders and not 3..........

Supposedly it gets 34 MPG.

But yeah... this thing and the Ford Focus can rot in the hell of small cars that are more like torture devices than transportation.

The shape of things to come with the CAFE raised to 35 mpg.

I like to go box boffing and trashcan bowling in those kinds of rental cars :)

The mpg's quoted are no joke, the car got 22.23 mpg with easy driving. After realizing that flooring it wasn't going to get us anywhere faster I took it easy figuring I'd get close to 40 mpg, even with an auto trans. Bobby, I love the Geo pic, but even the Metro is more solidly built than our rental was. I closed the rear door with my hip and it dented! It popped back out after opening it again and slamming it shut, very carefully. The whole car started rocking at a red light, the problem was traced to my 105 lb. daughter in the back seat keeping time to the radio with her foot.

that's an aveo....not a geo...took it from gm site!!!

Just saw it, an Aveo 5. The SE was a sedan, guess it was the luxury model.
