For all you Top Gear junkies

Season 10 is here!

Episode 1:

Episode 2:
http://www.mininova.org/tor/940529

If you get errors, wait a bit and try again, the errors are because too many people might be on the site at one time.

Will update with fresh episodes as they arrive.

Martian 10-17-2007 10:51 AM

Awesome. It annoys me that we get all of the episodes a series late over here.

How's Hammond looking? I never really heard much about his recovery after the crash, but I know the guys said they wouldn't start doing new episodes until he was ready, so I assume that he's more or less okay.

Daniel_ 10-17-2007 12:00 PM

That was a year ago.

The last series was after his accident, and went really well.

Same as over here with US shows, like House, NCIS and Prison Break.

someone needs to keep updating this thread, god I love topgear. fifth gear is also a wicked show!

passthru 12-30-2007 06:32 AM

QuasiMondo.. Thanks for the links. Have you already downloaded and watched the ones you've posted?
I'm curious, since they've already been unpacked by some people I've never heard of.

red87gt: Just type Top Gear into the search bar on the site. But please finish downloading and watching first, so we know they're legit.

Ok, thanks for the response. It always confuses me when people unpack stuff and add their name on to the end..

red87gt 01-03-2008 05:24 PM

any new updates??

btw top gear and fifth gear are the 2 greatest car shows ever

Willravel 11-17-2009 02:35 PM

It was a solid episode, drawing on the previous "searching for the best driving road" episode which is my absolute favorite. I'd very much like to take that Aston into those tunnels under that government building.

spindles 11-17-2009 03:10 PM

I bet Eric Bana is spewing it was a wet day - he would've given the top of the board a shake.

It really, really did.

This kinda felt like a slap in the face after Top Gear lied about the Tesla roadster.

Strange Famous 11-23-2009 12:48 PM

If I was the manufacturer of that G Whizz thing I'd be genuinelly pissed off that Geoff (or was it the hammerhead eagle i-thrust?) actually beat their fucking car!

I don't think it was intentional.

Jezzer's lack of any form of practical skills is well documented. Building a giant box was really the best one could hope for from him, in terms of a body.

Granted, I suspect there was a bit more crew involvement than the film implied, but one might end up a little suspicious if Geoff the Hammerhead iEagle Thrustmaster had rolled out looking like something from Lamborghini.

There's definitely a likeness there, but it seems more due to the fact that the Flex is (frankly put) rather ugly, rather than the guys making an intentional jab.

LazyBoy 12-13-2009 06:11 PM

Ok, maybe the TFP gang has the secret.....who is the driver?

-Will :D

spindles 12-13-2009 07:29 PM

Do you mean the stig?

I don't think it has ever been announced, though this guy has been linked to the position:
Ben Collins (driver) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've been semi-disapointed with Season 14. There have been some bright moments (the track test of the Noble 600 & the Lexus LFA for example). But it has felt like something has been missing. If you're wanting to download the episodes in SD, 720p, and even 1080p check out finalgear.com, thats where I go to get them myself.

Why doesn't NBC admit that the British version is better than anything they could do? Just put the British one on the air like they put our shows on over there (or at least in Australia they did).

Maybe if Jay Leno had switched to this show and got Tim Allen or Adam Savage or something, maybe... But I would watch the British version over a lot of their other shows.

I'm half way though the episode. They are trying hard. It's a bit different without the British guys... soo far I'm giving it a thumbs up. The stig-clone and test track segment clone seems awkward since there is no real acknowledgement of the original version.

---------- Post added at 11:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:23 PM ----------

.... okay... it wasn't all that great. some of their upcoming clips look more promising.

Fotzlid 11-21-2010 09:27 PM

The US version has the look down pat, but there was no chemistry between the hosts.
Hopefully that will change with future episodes.

I thought the second episode was better than the first. Buzz Aldrin looked like he would be a difficult interview subject and Adam's interview technique was awful (at best). Ruttledge did a much better job this week.

I thought the blind guy drifting bit was well done, topped off with the dog peeing in the studio. I also enjoyed the Aston Martin review but the 'English are liars' speedo joke was lame - was that the best the writers could come up with?

While the EVO race was similar to one Richard did in TG UK, this one was *through* the snow. That looked like heaps of fun.

Next week is the moonshining episode (where they buy old cars). I'm looking forward to this as it will hopefully show off the hosts interaction a little better.

ASU2003 11-29-2010 10:15 PM

I watched the American version last weekend. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't close to the British version. It has potential, and seems to have a budget, but they need to do crazy stuff, not just race Lambos down a runway.

I also watched the British version and they had the best quote I've heard in a long time. "You can't be American, you're nowhere near fat enough."

I don't think their driving skills matters that much. None of the UK hosts has a background in racing cars. What they can do in a car is learnt from (work) experience, rather than a racing background. There may be some challenges that are best done by Tanner, but by and large top gear challenges don't revolve around the guys being great drivers.

I am hoping for better things. The British version took time to become what it is.

spindles 12-22-2010 06:14 PM

Yep, I think this is where you see how poor the Oz and US versions are - the UK guys are just so slick - you *know* it is scripted but it just seems less scripted because of the delivery.

Spoiler: The treatment of the stig was funny, as was James doing yoga
