my scooter wont run
 

i just got an aprilia sr50 replica , its ben braving the elements for 2 years and i cant get it running ive gotten a nu battery and spark plug and ive just topped her up with fresh oil and fuel and still no luck can any1 help ?????:confused:

what happens when you turn the ignition key on? does it crank but not start/run? do you get no cranking at all? you will have to give us more info.

is it electronic ignition or mechanical.....look at the points for corosion,carb could be gummed up from old gas??.....xoxoxoo

Is this thing carburated? If so look for a drain in the float bowl, I would suspect condensation in the fuel system somewhere. Also replace the fuel filter, and check the shut off, if there is one. Remove the spark plug from the cyl. head, leaving the ignition wire on, and crank the motor over with the ignition on while touching the metal part of the plug to the head and see if you can see spark arcing across the gap.
