now that is cool in more ways than one
very cool..... how much air pressure they running 10-12 psi ?
I'm not sure of the actual pressures, but I know they let out lots of air out of the tires so that it has more contact surface to the ice.
Winter wheelin' is a blast! Yes, you air down to somewhere around 10 psi (depends on your tire/rim combo) or even lower if you have beadlocks.
coo coo
looks like fun! Wish there was snow out here |
where are the JEEPS?!?!?! looks like a bunch of toyotas to me...
Icelanders call all 4x4 Jeeps.. in fact the Icelandic word is Jeppa.
One winter we were out in the northern part and we got stuck. A kind Icelander stopped for us, and helped pull us out of the snow drift. He said as we approached the vehicle he said in Icelandic, "How you get stuck in Jeep?" |
looks like fun. Very different from my type of wheeling.
I have runs as low as 6 psi in my tires on the rocks without blowing a bead on a non bead-locked rim. (i was pushing it :) ) Jer |
Nice trucks too... except for the IFS :(.
All I see is a bunch of jeep wannabees! :P
That would be crazy, I don't know if I would have enough faith in me or my equipment to go through with all that. One misstep and you're an ice cube
*bumP*
all you people complaining about dringing in the snow.... look at driving here... |
Damn i want to head out there, i go out enough in the sand pits near where i live and i think the snow would be a fun change up.
Nice photo set, must have been a kick. I especially like that the rides are all Toys.
Kick ass! As much as I don't like toyota cars, I love their trucks.

IFS stands for Independant Front Suspension. In most cases you can get better articulation out of a solid axle, but the perponderance of manufacturers abandoned them in for some fore of IFS because of the superior ride and handling of the vehicle on road. There are several companies out there that make long travel suspension kits, and these remedy the shorcommings of IFS, without crude characteristics of a staright axel.
great pics, the only problem is that it is makin me want to get my CJ out so i can go wheeling in the snow again.
