1996 Toyota Tacoma 4 cyl question

Howdy

My friend has a '96 Tacoma, 4cyl, 2wd, extra cab pickup that was recently diagnosed at an autoparts place for free. The diagnosis states that Cylinder 1 is misfiring. She recently had a tuneup with new sparkplugs, etc. and I want to check the wires, coils and sparkplugs (anyway). Does anyone know the cylinder order for the motor? i.e. which cylinder is considered #1.

Thanks!

Cylinder 1 would be the very front cylinder on an inline 4 cylinder, and then in numerical order from front to back after that. On V type engine the order varies from manufacturer to manufacturer but #1 will always be the furthest forward cylinder.

Awesome! Thanks so much. Glad to know my gut instinct was along the right lines.
