Oxidation on plastic bumper covers

I have an old car that I pretty much will keep until the wheels fall off of it. But one thing about it that does bother me is the appearance of the bumper covers. They are badly oxidized and look like ass. I can get a pretty good summer's worth of shine from the paint by a good clearcoat polish and a buffing but these bumpers never look good. The one thing that I do that is a temporary solution is Armorall or Son of a Gun. Those will make them look good as new for a short time (a couple or three car washes). Googling doesn't return anything other than websites selling products that claim to take care of oxidation, but I've not really found any tips or tricks from people who have had actual success. Anyone here on TFP have any ideas?

Use a heat gun. Keep moving and do one small area at a time. Start in a less visible area until you get it figured out. Makes it look like new (except for flaws) and unlike coatings it lasts.

Interesting. I'll give that a shot on a small area and see what happens. Thanks.

I second the heat gun. Jeep TJ fenders all gray out after a while and the heat gun will bring them back to new in short order.
