heartless

A girl in no hurry
in a gloomy, dark street;
where killed minds do creep -
she has not to worry.

A man with no friends;
he eats for his feelings
he drinks for his soul -
has found a lost goal.

Greasy fat fingers
grip dishonest pride;
obnoxious air lingers -
two in for a ride.

The mate feels accomplished,
gets ready to go;
finds rusty old crowbar,
brings justice to hoe.

Pain pierces invited,
a passion ignited,
blood filling a void -
it can't be destroyed.

A human does wonder
when lullaby heals,
when victim not feels -
a brain stops to ponder.




Alternative title was "heartless", but I reconsidered and found it too cryptic.
