I wrote this at work inbetween customers so please don't judge too harshly!

I am walking down the street
It is a street my feet have not yet met
Until today when, for the first time
I do not know what lies ahead.

I don't move across the ground
The ground hurtles itself below me.
Panic strikes as i stumble onward,
Unable to anticipate the potholes and cracks.

Stubbing my toe against the ragged gravel
I remember a time, it seems,
When turns in the path straightend for my ease
And the ground cushioned my now sliced foot.

That street led all the way to the horizon
But i can't walk it now.
Tread after tread i travel this darkend street,
Searching for a familiar path,
Hurting, lost, and alone.


Okay, i'm no artist, and i'm sure this is a very elementary piece, but i thought i'd post it anyways.
