A NATURAL PRAYER

Let me breathe freely as
the mountains do.
Give me pause long enough
to see the silver lining.
Have chance turn me to see
A golden, setting sun.
Push a gentle breeze upon me
to cool my frenzy.
Prevent me from speaking
So I may hear the crickets.
Hear my prayers so that I may
Realize the miracles of nature.

I AM AN EAGER YOUTH

I am an eager youth
cozy at the feet of life
before the fire.
I listen in awe
as she speaks
of lessons,
as the night
draws on.

FEAR

Allow stress to wither away,
Discover a trust in nature.
Relinquish worry to time,
For what you may not control,
Is what you may not control,
And fear is beset by hope.

TODAY BEFORE TOMORROW

I see baseball games,
Hot summer swims,
Cars, legos, comic books.
I see video games,
School work; math
History, science, english
I see happiness, love
Crankiness, groundings
I see a world of challenges,
I see a world of goals,
Today I begin with the first.

SYNCHRONI-CITY

His eyes were interstellar, -
A glint beyond our setting sun.
His ragedy, dirt-woven clothes
Fluttered in the wind like a
Tattered American flag.
He paced aimlessly, unseeing
Any final destination.
With each step, his limp
Would sway his aged body
To the music that I listened to.
It was an astounding moment
Of obvious synchronicity that
I was the only one to notice.
An event of his own life that
He will never remember, yet
By these thoughts, I will.

TIME

There is a harmony in this world
That one may find so unexpectedly
Between two seconds of time,
That if all people lived within,
Rome would've been built in a day.

Although time is mathematically solid,
And seems to lie in a single direction...
Any emotion from the simplist creature,
Will change the course of history.

Life is built upon the foundation
Of a pure universal conciousness.
Exisiting in a thousand forms,
It is the force which binds us all.
It is an attatchment to others,
To the animals, to the plants,
To the wonders that surrounds us.
The beginning, the end, and the middle
Of time, lies within our own lives.

A CLOUDY DAY

Today there's a bleakness,
That covers the sun.
A hint of a winter,
That is still to come.
Lifting sunlight from Earth,
As bleakness will do,
Allowing inner light,
To come shining through.

CHANGE

Change consumes us.
Everything changes, at every second.
We must cope with endings, and passings,
And accept what is turning out to be.

Tomorrow is just a glimmer,
Of the void of the unknown.
Yet the possibilities extend
Beyond our comprehension.

We fear what we do not understand.

We cannot shed our fear of change,
Until we agree that there exists
The possibility of anything
Being delivered to our door.

Then we become leaves upon a tree,
Waiting for the inevitable wind
To carry us away.
