I wrote this poem a long time ago after watching They Shoot Horses Don't They.

I stand here a victim of my will
While I sunlight filters past the hill
I strive to maintain it, but alas I can not contain it
So I linger on while the light it has gone.

Thank you. The main theme behind this was we set our sights on something and expend all our energies trying to reach this goal. Even though halfway through it we realize that this was not what we want to do. So we go through life totalty unsatisisfied.
