A gift

A gift is what I'll present to you.

Sensory perception, and memory recollection
are the only tools for embodying conception.
A clever instrument for the quasi-omnipotent,
who seeks curious fools for this experiment.
Without us, creation is a singular explanation.
You would already know this blissful sensation.
But, to dream an existence of energy seems
to allow us to name and grow mental schemes.
While you sleep away, no mutter, no peep,
our imaginations explore; no thought's too deep.
To name an ending would only be pretending.
You'd only implore us to continue extending.
So, to be quiescent and cease one's existence
would allow you to know of this sentence.
But, one stillness will not bring consciousness.
For now, enthusiastically, I'll live and confess.
