Cologne for men..
Anyone use Axe cologne?
any success with it? |
Define "success".
Do you mean: "Anyone use Axe cologne? Will it get me laid?" If so, my answers are no and no. |
my BF wears it, i like it...but he'd get laid whether or not he wore it :p
he wears the 'Alaska' scent. dunno, that's here in europe, not sure if its the same scent in the USA? |
Can't stand wearing cologne but I do like a nice light floral scent on women.

No need for cologne. I never wear any of that crap. Just shower and keep youself clean. Smelly stuff is for chics. |
Yes I use it... mostly when I'm going to something more formal and dressy. However, I doubt its led to getting laid more often.
|
This'll sound silly, but I really like the scent of my bf's deodorant. *hehe* Don't remember what kind it is, I'll have to ask him.
|
My GF is torn between PHEONIX from Axe (which usually seems to be the ladies fav) and Curve for men...
|
if it workeed like it did in the commercial it would cost a whole lot fuckin more, dont ya think ... lol
chicks seem to like it and it does smell good and it's not really cologne, it's like body spray or whatever which is different, but doesnt really matter that much |
You mean when you guys wear AXE, you don't get ravishly assualted in the elevator by a hot model?????
Then again....maybe it's just me :) |
I rarely wear it, but if I do I wear Eternity.
|
my wife goes nuts over the AXE version she got me called Orion. and yeah.. it definitely helps. ;) it doesnt get me laid, but when she says 'mmmmm.. you smell gooood.' and snuggles up close.. i know that i have an even better than usual chance. :D
as for everyday usage i wear eternity too.. which my wife also loves. its not a girly thing any more than is dressing in a manner that will impress a woman.. its bait.. and i believe some people need all the help they can get. :p |
i occasionally use royal copenhagen or sandlewood...
|
The girlies love my Cool Water.
|
I do not use scent, but I think that those ads are funny. If you go to their website, they have a couple of the ads to watch. I like the football player one the best.

i rarely wear anything, but when i do, its something my g/f picked out that she "likes" ;) and i think its called Chrome...
|
Every once in a while, I'll hit some "Obsession"

Hell ya boCo(why no mo mofo???) Cool Water rocks.
I like my Perry Ellis too. dont remember what its called but its in a clear cylinder bottle. Gotta agree w/ rogue on the obsession too ive always liked that one. |
POLO....there is no substitute.
if you want to smell like a $3 can of cologne then knock yourself out with AXE. if you want to have every chick you get close to bury her face in your neck, POLO. |
Cool Water by Davidoff
|
I Love the cologne "Curve"....Whenever I smell that on a man...It just really gets to me.

i barely ever use cologne... hell, i hardly ever use aftershave. i'd try the axe shit once to see how it worked, but it's not liek i'm out there trying to attact hordes of women (although i don't think any man would complain if it just happend). :D
|
Hugo Boss is pretty good and my wife loves it......
Royal Copenhagen and Sandalwood....What are those? |
I wear a little something called...Hai Karate.
Do they even make that stuff anymore? |
I (and my wife) are totally addicted to my Armani Mania. But it's not the kind of cologne you can wear with jeans and t-shirts; it BEGS to be worn with nice clothes.
|
I wear Drakkar, and my wife more than loves me for it. I also wear that Adidas stuff, but not he same result from my wife.
|
I like Essenza di Zegna & Kiton. Armani Mania as mentioned before is nice too.
But it doesn't get me laid, how weird. What am I doing wrong then? |
calogne and perfume makes me queasy when I hafta stand too close to somebody wearin' it. I used to be a stinky hippie. Then I discovered Burt's Bees soaps and deoderants. Spiced Rum soap is the shit.

I recently tried it and liked it. I like the Apollo scent myself, but I haven't tried Pheonix. I still prefer the smell of Old Spice above AXE. |
I tried Orion AXE, i got to admit it hasn't hurt me any.
|
Swiss Army makes some good cologne.
|
Yes, I use two different types of Axe cologne and during the musical I was in last year I had about 4 or 5 extremely beautiful girls haning on me all the time saying "are you wearing it today?" I never got laid.... come to think of it I probably could've.... but I didn't.
|
I seem to smell like lavender a lot... And that really helps me out with the ladies (lavender's an aphrodisiac you know). I don't actually put any on, but in my bedroom, I have a little air freshener thingie and I always smell like it now...
|
I bought a can of it, hated it, threw it out. I didn't like the smell at all. Once I started to get sweaty, it turned sour.
I normally don't wear cologne though. |
Aquea Di Gio....occasionally.
Not that much anymore. |
Aqua Di Gio too, put it on often.
My uncle wears copious amounts of axe orion, but doesn't really dress to it so, whatever. I guess next on my shopping list is a decent scent of axe. |

Actually I haven't worn that for a couple years since I finished my last bottle... I haven't spotted it in stores in a while. I also had a small bottle of sandalwood essence which Molly really likes on me. My current 3 favorites are Joop, Pi, and one from Jean Paul Gaultier. |
curve for me
it's not very "loud" imo and smells weird. i liek it |
the woman helped me pick out Axe Apollo. I rarely wear cologne, but if I do, it's that. A lot of people are mentioning curve, i'll have to go sniff some of that to try it.
|
Acqua Di Gio as well but only if i'm going out or something. i think it reacts with my skin because it smells (at least to me) different at the end of the day compared with the begining of the day when i first put it on.
i did some research on this stuff before i got cologne and one thing that you have to remember is that one cologne will smell different on different people. everyone has a different pH level to their skin and they use different soap so a cologne that smells good on your friend might smell completely different on you. try them at a deparentment store (not all at the same time) and being your gf/wife/friend with you. |
I like the axe for daily use as a deodorant/bodyspray (usually have to use "real" deodorant as well, though), but it's not cologne.
For going out and such, I use Tommy, Curve, or occasionally Opium. All good scents. As has been said, some Axe smells good, some doesn't. Some cologne smells good, some doesn't. |

i stick w/ speed sticks intipersperant/deoderant. its cheap, smells good yet not too strong, and my gf digs it. what more could you want.
|
I really cant stand the sprot axe or something like that. When you spray it really stinks up a room. I know a kid who had some in his car and sprayed it on before we went to a party. The ride their almost mad me sick.
|
Well, it's been said three times already, but most girls I've know have loved cool water. I personaly like highlife from davidoff just a bit less, but it doesn't get nearly the same level of appreciation from the wife. My Ocean from club med is a great clean, light and crisp everyday scent, imo
|
Drakkar noir - Old ....yes, girls like it though. Not many guys wear it anymore either so its a rarity.
|
For everyday wear, I'll toss on AXE Tsunami. If you believe it's going to get you laid, you've got another thing coming. It does however, cut the smoke smell off of me from the drive into work (and freshens my car too).
Swiss Army is great if you can find it, Calvin Klein truth is great for social situations because it's not that heavy, Calvin Klein Contradiction is great if you going to get laid - don't ask me why. Choosing a fragrance is all about the situations you'll be in. You can't go on a dinner date wearing so much Obsession that your dates eyes water, but at the same time you can't go to a crowded bar or dance club wearing something that's hardly there. You'll simply blend in. |
i've been usig Eternity for many years. Had lots of compliments from previous g/f s
|
I just use the addidas deodorant spray, the orange canister. It smells fine and it subtle.
|
depends on the girl....some like a light scent and comment on your choice of cologne...others couldn't care less
|
I used to shop a bit at Body and Bath (or whatever it's called), which had a Men's section. I like a citrus scent I got there, and use it VERY sparingly and very rarely.
Here's a funny one about a product I found there once. They tended to have a group of products, such as shaving cream and cologne and soap, with a scent, then the same group with another scent. They had a product that had this... familiar scent. I knew that scent, but couldn't place it... then I did. I about fell down laughing. They'd scented a product for men, get this, exactly the same as a urinal cake. When I could stop laughing, I figured someone in their product development group, such as the ONE MAN there (I'd bet!), played a practical joke on them. The women in the rest of the company wouldn't have known what that scent denotes to a guy, I figure. Yes, I told the sales lady. :D |
The ladies have always seemed to like Abercrombie and Fitch's cologne.
|
I use axe and i love it :)
|
I'd agree with many of th eothers, keep clean, girls love a clean natural guys smell. I really don't like axe, and neither do most of the girls i know.
|
For a deoderant i use 'nothing' i think it's for woman, but i dont care really, i think it smells nice and i havent gotten any complaints.
Also i use 'nothing for men' as my aftershave. They all smell nice to me, very subtle and 'watery' |
all i have to say about axe is it dont work like it do in the commercials
