Glutamine
I searched around a bit, and there were some sort-of answers to this, but I figured I'd post a new topic anyway.
I've heard of the [supposed] safe advantages of glutamine, and my friend and I picked up some of the Vitamin Shoppe brand pills to try em out. Turns out each pill is only 500mg. I read you need something like 10g a day for best use? Guess I'd need to go to the powder. ex: http://www.musclesurf.com/pureglutamine.html I also read, however, that taking an all in one BCAA is better, because it stimulates your body's natural production of glutamine, and is more effective than straight glutamine. ex: http://www.musclesurf.com/bcaa-5000-powder.html Any comments / experiences with either? |
Oral glutamine is a very rough subject at the moment. Some people experience good gains from it, others experience a good weight off the back pocket.
Really, you'd have to try it to see what happens. http://www.professionalmuscle.com/fo...ight=glutamine - Glutamine article If you taking a good quality protein powder, you should have no need for BCAA suppliments unless your doing a fair bit of hardcore weightlifting your not telling us about... http://www.professionalmuscle.com/fo...ight=glutamine - BCAA article |
I just started taking L-Glutamine again this past week. Too soon to really tell if it makes much difference. I feel fine, no side effects. It helps with recovery and keeps muscles from staying sore after working out.

Rather try peptide bonded glutamine products as they don't breakdown into toxic byproducts as l-glutamine does when mixed with fluid.Peptide bonded products are more stable.
