Driving Florida to Maine and back - Scenic suggestions? - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I'm taking off tomorrow morning for Portland Maine. The trip up is going to be fast and not fun. But, on Wed at noon I'll be free to head back and don't need to be back in FL until Sunday so that can be a fun trip.

Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions of things to see on the way home. The only thing I want to do for certain is drive the Skyline Drive through the Blue Ridge (or Smoky?) mountains in VA. Other than that, I'm open to ideas. I'll be driving a car with some spirit so curvy roads are a bonus plus.

Ideas?
