Blood Blisters

I have a blood blister about 1.2cm with a cut above it about 1.4 cm long on my index finger from a collision between a wall and a table when moving some funiture while doing some volunteer work... I drained the blood blister when it was bulging full (now I realize maybe I shouldn't have done that with one that small...) with a steralized needle, and now it has healed up and partially refilled with blood (and doesn't seem to be gaining any new blood). The problem I am having now is that I just noticed, now it being about 2 days since I cut it, that there is a dark spot on the medium sized knuckle between my fingernail/smallest knuckle and cut... Never had a blood blister before so dunno if this is at all normal or something I should have checked up so up it goes on tilted :P

Thanks

Nothing to worry about, sounds normal. Blisters/blood blisters are a part of life. Start worrying if the area starts to smell as that's a sign of infection. Also, pricking blisters with a steralised needle is fine as they're going to pop sooner or later anyway.

yeah, the only reason not to lance something is to keep it a closed wound and help prevent infection. As long as you lanced it with something clean and keep the now open wound clean it should be fine.
