Building muscle over collarbone?

Was just wondering if there are any good exercises or lifts to build up the collarbone area? I just dont like having my collarbone so exposed and I'm trying to build some cushion around it. Is there anything that specifically targets it? Or should I just continue with building up my shoulders and chest?

incline press should help, if you aren't doing it

Dumbell Shrugs are also very good for building the upper traps which will help

To build up the shoulder girdle area, you need to work out: Your chest, your shoulders and your upper traps.

The chest muscles will take a while to fill out up to the collar bone, and you will have to do incline benching as well as normal chest exercises to do that.

Incline bench will build under the collarbone, do shoulder shrugs and standing rows to build up above and beside. That should do it.

I'll have to agree with the chest, shoulders, and traps work for that area. Just curious, why do you want to cover the collarbone?

I'm asking because once in my kung fu class the instructor couldn't use me for practice because the move he wanted to show required manipulating with the exposed collarbone.

Yikes, that sounds painful. That's probably reason enough to cover up the collarbone in the first place! :-)

Ahhh, I just want to cover it up because it seems so fragile and that it'll break easy, that's all.

Also try incline flys or use the cross-cable machine and do flys from the ground up instead of the usual way you see people doing them.
