My Balls Hurt...
Yes, you read the post right. Yes, it's exactly what you're thinking.
About a year ago I suffered a pulled groin. I went through rehab, but for the past year I've had trouble with the right side of my man region. All the way from a dull ache, to a pinching right behind the sack. It's become worse as of today, because it's now behind everything. I'm wondering if any of you have had a pulled groin before and if so, does this sound like the case. I'm at the point where I'm thinking about switching doctors and getting a second opinion, because it just doesn't feel right. My last physical was four months ago and nothing was found wrong with me. I had pain today getting into a van. That's something that has never happened to me before and I verbally had to explain how much pain I was in, because of how slow I was moving. Anyone have any experience with this??? |

Have you been checked for a hernia? One of the guys I play hockey with had thought he pulled his groin but it did end up being a hernia.

When I had my physical about four months ago he did the normal, push on the pelvic region/lower stomach to check for hernias. To be honest I don't know if pinching behind the sack is associated with hernias, but I really don't know, because I've never had one.

Don't know if it's my place to be in this thread or not . . . but here's my two cents anyway
![]() Do you wear boxers, or briefs? The reason I ask is my boyfriend has what sounds like a similar problem, and he's had it all of his life. Anywhere from a mild aching, to sharp pains. He finally swallowed his pride and saw a dr, and the doctor told him . . bum bum bum - his balls were too big. Seriously. He suggested that my boyfriend switch from boxers to boxer-briefs, to control the pain, which he did - and now he's fine. Just needed a bit of support. . . .

I'd get it checked out. It could be something like thubpt said, of you could have something like ascending testicle or something like that.
Might not be a bad idea to see the doc lest your balls fall off ![]()

I actually wear boxer briefs also and they are neither to tight or loose. |

Doctors appointment tommorow. I've actually have done some research over the past 24 hours. It could be one of four things....
1 - Hernia 2 - I'm passing a stone through my system. ( My friend says that I would be doubled over in pain though, so doubt this is it ) 3 - A pulled groin / teared groin muscle 4 - The last one would have to do with testicular cancer, but I'm crossing my fingers on that one. ( even though it's doubtful, but still... ) |

I'm almost certain it's not a pulled groin problem. I've had tons of them and the pain isn't the same as you're describing. The groin muscle goes from right at the top inside of your thigh where it meests your torsoe - right over your hip flexor and attaches at the top third of your quad. Besides, if you had pulled it badly enough, you would probably see a little bruising or clotting around you upper thigh area and would really feel the pain when you stretch to the side or lunge forward. A pain that is isolated around or behind your scrotum doesn't sound like it could be associated with your groin muscle.
It would be great if you could update this thread with the Doctor's diagnosis. Good luck. ![]() |

The doctor diagnosed exactly what you didn't think it was. It's a pulled groin muscle and came from a back injury I had about a year ago. Also I've been told that lifting, pulling, pushing, isn't a good idea right now and that I should take a break from any of that action.
Everything else came out okay. I'm on Motrin now and was told that I need to go over to Physical Therapy, but I already went there for this injury before and know all the exercises they'll give me, so I'm just going to start doing it on my own. |

Actually Limey...
Started the routine of physical therapy on my own. I have to ride a stationary bike for fifteen to twenty minutes and stretch before and after. The stretching of the groin muscle is when I really, really, feel it. I hope to feel better within the next couple of weeks, because it shouldn't take to long for this feeling to subside, but if it doesn't then I'll be seeking a second opinion. Until then though... everyday I'm going to exercise. I'm even going to start lifting again, like I should have been doing all along. ( but with light weights... I'm not stupid ) |

Why on earth would you lift when you said above that you should stay away from that for a while? Even light stuff? Also, a PT will make sure you are using the right technique with your exercise. That may have had something to do with why you were injured in the first place.

1 - I should have defined how I'm going to start lifting. Everything is going to be light ( five to ten pounds ) and most of it is going to be me laying down on a weight bench. There will be no pressure on my groin.
2 - I got a groin pull last year, and then went to a PT. I already know what they're going to show me what to do and how to do it. This isn't a injury from the last round of PT, but was because of my work situation. I really need to start limiting myself on what I lift, but sometimes can't help it, because my co-workers do nothing in that regard. |

Yeah, I have had a pain in my left testicle when bending certain ways at the gym. I don't always feel it but it does sometime hurt. I don't think it is a groin pull or hernia. Not sure. Will continue to monitor. Maybe my balls are too big.
