Suggestions for yoga instructional tape/dvd
I've been thinking about starting up yoga for stretching/relaxation and was wondering if anyone have any favorite instructional dvds I could check out. I would consider myself a beginner at yoga (did a bit for a class years ago), so something basic would be fine.
I work out regularily (weight and cardio 3 times a week), but am looking for something to keep me limber and help me relax a bit. |
With an instructor wife, I can say with some credibility that some classes would be best, at least in the beginning. An instructor can watch and provide guidance. There are many things you can do incorrectly, some of which can actually cause injury. Plus, as you learn the moves and sequence benefits, you can create your oqn sequences.
Just think of it like doing squats. It is a technical excercise. When you use the proper technique you can lift much more and, as a result, achieve much better benefits. |
I just picked up Yoga for Urban Living and use it to wind down before going to bed. Works wonders. Aside from the "Fountain of Youth" position, it's pretty mellow.
