whey protein questions...

okay, i started taking creatine a few weeks ago. ive been staying hydrated and have seen some good results from the creatine. i lift 3 times a week and the other 3 days do some sort of cardio. i have been getting thinner which is good and have been putting on muscle mass which is good too....ive been looking up whey protein suppliments but havent found too much information about it. i want to get overall 'bigger' and im thinking that taking whey protein might help.

comments/suggestions/experiences thanks

It definitely helps. I've been cutting fat out of my diet and taking whey protein regularly, and I'm seeing an improvement. A friend of mine swears by the stuff--that and chicken breasts are pretty much all he eats. Considering he weighs 150 lbs and is benching 300, I consider that a pretty good testimonial.

IMO whey protein is a good cheap way to bulk up. The only downside is in some people it can cause gas/stomach weirdness.

yea, ive read that if you have problems with the proteins in milk then you will have problems with whey...since it is mostly made of milk proteins...but i used to drink milk all the time so id think ill be fine...i stopped drinking milk because ive heard that milk is a factor in acne...that, combined with not eating chocolate and overall eating better and working out more has made me feel better energy wise and has helped lessen my acne

whey is made out of whey proteins
milk has whey/cassein protein in it

not the other way around

Just because it works for him doesn't mean anyone else will benefit in the same way since everyone works differently to a degree. So I wouldn't consider that a good testimonial. And I'd bet that he was probably taking in more protein than he needed, he could probably cut back on it and still get the same results. Protein should only be around 25 percent of your caloric intake and you still have to make sure that you're using them all and not leaving some as excess because they will just add up as fat.

sorry 25% protein not enough for me, nor for any lifters
