Ticket Scalping and eBay
I'm hoping to sell a football ticket and notice quite a few on eBay going for some outrageous prices.
Isn't this illegal? I don't know my ticket scalping laws, please fill me in. If not, this sucka's going on eBay. |
It depends on the state that the ticket is being sold in. Some states stipulate that it can't be more than the face value, some states give you about 10% extra to charge.
check this out, it's the ebay policy on selling tickets. http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/event-tickets.html I hope this helps. |
That did help, thank you.
Appears Iowa has no scalping laws in this situation. Awesome. |
I think it's great when you bid on some small thing on ebay, like an envelope and as a added bonus you get some sort of sports tickets! It's always nice to find ways to beat "the man"

That box flap makes the whole thing perfectly legal....I also especially loved the guys at football games who would have that box flap in their right hands and a fan of 10 tickets in their left hands. I always wanted to go up to one of them and say, "Do you need tickets? Then look at your left hand, moron." |
