Hey anyone tried price line?? and how well did it work? Any Bitches

I've used it a lot. It's good when you don't need to be at your destination at a certian time. I've also used it for hotel rooms. Got a room at a nice place in NYC near South Street Seaport for $75 a night ;)

Priceline is awesome for hotel rooms; not so much for rental cars or airfare, in my expreience.
In certain cities, expect massive savings; but the key is flexibility, knowing what to bid and knowing how to bid. Fortunately there are places online that give you advice about all this. I recently stayed in a 4-star big city hotel that I got for $50/nt. The room normally went for $200/nt.

If your flexible in your flight times then priceline is pretty good.

I use expedia, and it's even cheaper if you get a flight and hotel room as a package deal. I save about $150 a week ago booking them together to Nashville. Had I purchased them separately through expedia or anyone else it would of cost about $600.

I would use priceline if I was driving and was wanting to stay in an uppity hotel room.

I'm not sure of any "how-to" sites out there that'll show you the ins and outs of priceline.com in particular. Compare using priceline with expedia, orbitz, hotwire and cheaptickets, though, and you'll learn a fair amount.

I've used priceline a total of once. My first bid was accepted (oops, should have gone lower I guess) giving me a flight on Song, I did self check in with my credit card, and everything worked flawlessly for less money than anything else that I could find. I can definitely recommend bidding if you need a cheap flight and don't need to pick exact departure times.

To put it simply, Priceline is good if your flexible. If not, head elsewhere.

It's a great place to get some good deals...too bad it wasn't around when my parents were traveling around the world to different places

Just another tip on buying tickets online, the airline sites many times have lower fares than Travelocity, hotwire and the rest. For one thing the travel sites put a surcharge on all tickets sold. I fly Continental often and have always gotten the best deals on off their site..

Agreed, I fly American almost exclusively, with the exception of a few destinations that they don't fly to, their website always has better deals than the "discounters".

Just book at least two weeks out, and plan on a Saturday stay... and your price should be pretty good.

The other thing to pay attention to is where you are flying into -- if you can, choose alternate airports if you can.

Hotels.com I use for hotels, first to check availability, then I will always go to the hotel's site, for either a cheaper rate, or to see if they will beat the online advertised rate (almost ALL of them do now)

Even if you are one time only traveller, sign up for the frequent flyer/frequent guest accounts, that account will get you bumped to the front of standby lines, and will get you better seating. (Contintenal is not trying this No MIddle seat thing - that they will pretty much guarentee that you won't be seated in the middle seat.)

Hotel accounts will get you bumped up to better rooms.

I've found that if you know in advance you're going somewhere the prices on Air Tran (if they fly where you are going) are HARD to beat...each time I've flown to chicago by watching their site, (they usually put up web fare only sales on wed or thur) I've gotten round trip for 130 bucks...same as when I went to New Jersey....I've never had a problem with them cept the seats are kind of scrunched up...but I always request and emergency exit seat with gives me LOTS of room

ValueJet is now known as Air Tran . I think they changed their name after they plane that went down in the Everglades and were grounded for a few months.

ATA, is another low-cost "vacation carrier" they fly to most vacation destinations - are super cheap, and last I checked, fly nothing but 737's and 757's - (one of the flight attendents I talk to regularly said they were hiring like crazy -so they must be pretty solid.)

I have used it to rent cars a few times and saved quite a bit of money. It really works well for renting cars. I'm too much of a wuss to try booking a flight with it.
