Getting in to Fashion Week shows?
 

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get into the shows at Bryant Park, short of donating body parts or sexual favors? I'd like to get my fiance in as a wedding present. Forgery is also not an option, I'd like to get married outside of prison. Thanks for any ideas.

You could try posting an ad on Craig's List. There are a few like it already, but you never know.

Try writing to the various fashion magazines, and ask for an invite to a party, or for one of the shows Tell them it's for your fiance's wedding gift, really sell it, ya never know.

Write to some of the various designers, especially not the really famous ones, you might score an invite or two that way.

I have no idea what Fashion Week is, but I'm assuming you're a guy. So you're going to get married to your 'fianceE'. Sorry, pet peeve. Girls have two 'e's and guys have one.

used to be easier when the designers and houses were still all accessible via the manufacturers in the garment district. I used to work there in my younger days but never went to Fashion Week.

I'm going to go with craigslist as the most likely manner of going there...

When I worked for a magazine that stuff was easy to get, now, if Ticketron doesn't have 'em - I'm lost.

LPM - Fashion week is a twice yearly event where many of the major designers show their spring/summer or fall/winter lines. There's tons of parties, and it's a good time. One of the biggest venues is in Bryant Park, a former drug infested area across the street/lawn from the NY Public Library - that somewhere along the line the drugs left and it became a pretty park in the middle of a concrete jungle. Fashion week is a lot of fun...
