Mortal Kombat: Chicken vs Turkey

What is the fundamental difference between the two? There's plenty of mention to a turkey sandwhich for lunch, and a chicken breast for dinner in diets, but why? Is it important that one be turkey, and one be chicken?

well, chicken's run arouind for about 10 seconds after they've had thier heads cut off, and turkeys are bigger and somewhat bad tempered (or so i've heard), but otherwise, i don't really know of any other difference when it comes to eating their meat.

I'm with harry - as far as i know, there's not enough of a difference to worry about ... turkey's a bit cheaper than chicken in UK so that's good

a bit of variety?

I'd guess chicken breast is nicer than turkey breast, but processed sliced turkey and processed sliced chicken are both pretty similar ... turkey meat can be tough

I think it comes down to how much you eat. Most Turkey has a hormone in it that causes drowsyness. Triptofan (sp). Think thats about nutrition wise. little different taste too.

Chicken comes in cuts more convenient for cooking, like boneless chicken breasts. A boneless chicken breasts is just about one serving size, and grills up quickly. And even without the skin, chicken can be fairly moist and tender if you don't overcook.

Turkey doesn't come in such small, convenient cuts, and hardly anybody ever fries or sautees it -- too dry. Even if you bought a turkey breast without the rest of the turkey, it's going to be big enough that you'd have to cook it by roasting it, which takes a while. Best to let the butcher cut it into slices and put it in a sandwich.

Nutrition Chart for Turkey

Turkey's a little lower in calories and a little lower in fat.

In writing this post, I had this bizarre flashback to WKRP and MR Carlson saying, As God as My Witness, I thought turkeys could fly... Turns out, chickens cant fly either...
Why Chickens Can't Fly

and now you know...

The main difference is that turkeys are larger than chickens. Other than that, i prefer the taste of turkey to chicken, but then again, it depends on how you prepare it. For instance, I dont think anyone would make turkey parmesan.
