animals.. what can ya do with them??

Our pets having babies is not a new concept for our family but we're all out of ideas for our latest situation. One of our cats has recently had kittens and is now insisting on bringing them into the house. That would not be a problem if she would behave like our other animals and keep them in a hidden basket somewhere where we can keep an eye on them. Instead she continues to bring them into the kitchen and put them in a cabinet full of pans under the stove. If we close the cabinet door she just stands there and looks at us or opens the door herself. The main problem with her keeping the kittens in the kitchen is that is where we also keep our dogs. If we don't let her in she drops her kittens at the door and we have big dogs outside....

My parents have two female cats who get kittens all the time (couple of weeks ago there were 10) One of the cats carry her kids everywhere, to my parents' bedroom, behind the couch in the TV-room, to the neighbour. It's mainly because she feels insecure in the room that was appointed for her. We have just made sure she always keeps them there, or if she manages to sneak them out they are returned at once, eventually she has started feeling a bit safer there and now there's not much of a problem at all (we still make sure she doesn't take them anywhere else in the house though).

I know this isn't an immediate solution, but spaying and neutering your pets would be a long term one. No puppies and Kittens, no need to find them homes, no need to feed more. There's plenty of unwanted/unloved pets in the world that need homes...

hehe, you could mail them to my girlfriends parents. Her mother is has bad as she is about kittens. They already have more than a dozen cats (they live on a farm).
