				Exercise the lazy

I need it. I haven't exercised in years, literally. It feels like I want to die after climbing stairs, even if it's just one or two floors. (I have a very low blood value though, so I get tired easily)

I don't need to lose weight though (48-50kgs, 173cm), I just need to get in shape. I've been lifting weights a bit, because I want to be able to lift something heavier than a carton of milk. I've also tried some pilates, but I only have two lessons (tape) and I'm running out of ideas. Any good sites, tips, video-downloads you could recommend?

Run or walk. Go to a park or a track and just walk or jog for about an hour. Or ride a bike or rollerblade. Anything that raises your heart rate.

How is your swimming skills? Zero impact, easy to ramp up/down, and a good workout for endurance.

Two big advantages: the scenery can be nice, and you can swim as easily in the winter as the summer.

and even dancing can be a good work out. jogging is an aquired taste I found - ok, so now I've aquired it it's great. I think going for something fun that happens to be good exercise is a good plan personally I love mountain biking but that's cos I like going places as fast as possible ![]()

I 2nd the biking recommendation. I find it's a relatively 'easy' exercise, one that my body seems to do quite well with, and doing ~100+ km a week is something I look forward to.

I would like to run, but I'm horribly prone to shin splints, so no-impact is important. ![]()

Running is the best way to get a good workout. I train with a heart rate monitor, to make sure I get the proper workout. When I work 12 hour days , sometimes I

walk briskly for 2 miles; but I do not get the same cardiovascular work out as I do from running. Start jogging and try to do !/2 mile then build up slowly. You should try to exercise a least 3 days a week or more to get benefits from running. |
