Has anyone tried this razor yet? I have a Mach3 right now and need new blades, but I was thinking about just buying that instead. Wanted to get some feedback first. I think it retails for like $14.

Wow.... its got a little vibrating motor in it. I haven't tried it, but i cant imagine paying that much money just so my Razor buzzes. Guess if you want to see if it works without buying it... turn your cell phone on to vibrate and hold it up to the razor when ya shave. I could be totally wrong, but the only benefit i can see from this razor over the normal Mach 3 (a good razor imo) would be from the placebo effect.

Sounds like one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of. The selling point of the Mach3 was that it would require fewer passes across your face, and therefore less irritation. So now, the vibrations will be like shaving each part of your face 20 times. No thanks.

I got one this week. It works great and there was a big difference shaving my neck. A lot smoother.

I picked one up about a week ago. I've got a horribly sensitive neck. No matter how, or what I shave with it always ends up very irritated. So far it seems to have made a positive difference. My neck looks much less red and irritated after shaving. It's worth giving it a shot if you already use mach 3 blades. Also seems to get through stuble easier.

Just got one this weekend. Works well. I like it. However, it is sooo smooth, that I found myself pushing down harder b/c it didn't feel like I was getting close enough. Personally I think it is worth the extra $.

when i first saw an ad for this i kept picturing some guy holding onto this vibrating razor and tearing his face up because he couldn't keep it steady... but after reading the above reviews, i think i might pick one up b/c i too have trouble getting my neck smooth... i'll be back with an update later tonight.

It's worth considering. Anything that offers hope of less irritation and smoother skin is worth a few extra bucks, even if it doesn't end up working as well as hoped.

okay, so i tried the mach 3 power last night. it did give me a very smooth shave, even on my neck where i can never get things smooth, but it's promise to take less strokes for a full shave was a load of crap... it took as many or more than a normal mach 3. i still think it was a good investment though.

I didn't notice needing less strokes either, but less irritation is always a good thing! I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a less painful shave.

OK, I bought one and just tried it out. To be unbiased, I shaved one side with the vibration on and the other with it off.

Um... I don't think I like it.

I'm used to fealing the blade against my skin. I can tell by how hard I'm pressing and the feel of the razor cuting the hair if I'm cuting the skin (ouch) or the hair itself. With the vibration turned on, I couldn't tell how hard I was pressing- therefore ended up cuting myself more on the side with the vibration the the side without.

Overall I have a better shave on the side with the vibration turned off.

I'm not going to give up now though. I'll give it a week and report back to tell if I've gotten used to it.

If I haven't goten used to it by then, I may see if my girlfriend likes it ()before I take it back.

Well mine appears to have stopped working. The switch seems to be stuck so I have to remove the battery when I'm not using it. Not sure if I just got unlucky or if it's crappy construction, but either way I'm pissed. Hopefully if I write a letter to Gillette and complain they'll send me a new one. Oh yeah, didn't abuse or overuse it. Probably turned the vibration on and off about twenty five times in the three weeks I've owned it.

I've decided the m3 isn't worth the money. I've used it about a week and have decided it's not any better than the origional m3. In fact, I actually cut myself more often with the power m3 than the origional because the power made it difficult to feel how hard I was pressing the razor to my skin.

Yeah, I'm still struggling with it myself. I think I may finish using the blades that I bought with the M3. If I don't get used to it by then, I'm going back to the Mach 3.

My cousin (well, cousin in law) came to visit us from the states, and brought along his M3.

It's a tasty little peice of machinery with a great shave, but i do prefer my M3 Turbo champion blades.

Just wanted to add a comment on the Shick 4 blade razor:

I was wondering when the would come out with a "4th" row or even more; but now I know why 3 seems to be the magic number. Cross rows of support metal/plastic are needed "at least in shicks model" for stability reasons I guess. This makes the spaces get clogged fast and hard to clear out. It basically sucks; dont buy it.

If any of you have a Cost-Co (the wholesale club) in your area, they were selling this with 10 cartridges for like $25. I'm gonna pick it up this weekend and give it go. I'll let you know my results, then.

Been using it for a lil over a month now and really like the damn thing. I thought it odd at first and most likely would never have gotten one if I had to pay for it, but a friend of mine works for Gillette and had a shit load of them to give out, so I nabbed one.

I've got seriously sensitive skin when it comes to shaving, even with my old mach3 turbo my neck was a mess with bumps, ingrowns, irritation.

Not sure what it is about this razor, but my skin is almost completely irratation free now.

Also when I don't shave for like a week (when I get beyond lazy), because my beard is pretty thick my razor would tend to get caught up in it and there'd be some pulling action. With the vibration of the m3 the razor glides right through no problem.

Basically if you are completely happy with your current razor, stay with it, there's nothing to gain with buying thise one. On the other hand, if you've always had problems, trying this would not be such a bad idea.

I had the same problem with the neck area, as most guys do. I picked-up and started using a shave oil called Zirh. You put it on before you shave, apply what ever shave cream you use, and then shave. It creates more of a buffer than just using shave cream or gel. It's a bit pricey ($15 per bottle) but it is soooo worth it.

Had that for a while a year or so ago, wasn't too keen on the Zirh line. I've since been using the Art of Shaving line. They too carry a pre-shave oil, that in combination with their shave cream, along with the m3 power is like magic.

On a sidenote, the AOS shave cream is freakin awesome. At first the thought of shelling out $20 for a lil 5 oz. tub made me shiver. It works like a champ though, not to mention I'm barely about a 1/4 of the way through a tub that I bought back in January. This stuff lasts long.

I just bought the M3 Power a couple weeks ago and I think it is Ok. It does give a smooth shave. It's the nicest blade razor I've had, I've had a Braun electric (4050 I think) for years that I normally use for face shaving, I don't shave with a blade often enough to have any decent speed at it. Electric just feels faster and good enough for most days, but if I want to be really smooth for milady I'll be using the M3.

I notice that when I shave with a blade, it feels like all the hairs are sharper than with the electric shaver, like it cuts them at a pointy angle or something.

I did just use the M3 to shave 'down there' yesterday, but I didn't like the motor running for that, so I just kept it off. It was really really nice, left no cuts and very few bumps. I had more blood spots (just a couple) on my face this morning when I shaved with it.

Caught it on sale at K-Mart for $12. I'd say it's worth it.

I've always had problems with razors (I've tried a ton), so I think I'm going to give the m3 a try today.

I've been using the M3Power for over a month and I'm very happy with it. I shave my head as well, and with previous razors, I've had to make sure I keep the speed of the blade up so that it doesn't get caught. With the Power, I can shave as slowly as I want, and it's still very comfortable.

I waited to buy it until I needed a new set of razors anyway. I think it was well worth the money. Also, I seem to notice the new Power blades lasting much longer than older versions. Of course, it may be that this one is so much more comfortable that I don't feel the need to change them as soon.

By the way, I don't use shaving cream and haven't for about eight years. My skin may not be as sensitive as those above, but I can still tell that this razor is a big improvement.

I got one for half price at the Gillette store at the Aussie Grand Prix (that was AWESOME!) and I was really eager to try it. And I liked it. I caused alot less irritation going against the grain under my chin and the vibrating is kinda pleasent. I give it a thumbs up.
