Eye won't stop twitching!!!!

It started around September '03 and hasn't really stopped for any longer than one day. My right eyelid twitches sporadically... it's driving me crazy!

Anybody else have this problem? Know what causes it, or how I can make it stop?

The fact that it hasn't stoped for more than a day since Sept. could very well mean something is wrong. You should see a doctor about that.

I get a twitch in my left lower eyelid when I don't get enough sleep, or am not hydrating properly. Drink more water and sleep.

Its called fasciculation and is usually due to a stimulant, like caffeine or stress. It affects the eyelid muscle often because the muscle is small and thin and more prone to stimulation. Try cutting out all caffeinated soda, coffee or tea and see if it helps. If not, take a vacation!

BTW, you said it started Sept 03- That wouldn't be about the time you started school, would it?

I've heard that it has something to do with a B vitamin deficiency. Since I've been taking a daily multivitamin I haven't had it even once. I used to get that a couple times a year or so.

Thanks y'all. I don't think I can cut caffeine out of my diet - I need to be at work at 6:00 am and cafeine is the ONLY thing that lets me function at that ungodly hour. I'm going to try the multi-vitamin suggestion & hydration... sleep too. & if those don't work, I'll just keep living with the twitch...

We used to call them "eye seizures" and always attributed them to stress and lack of sleep. heh. JS had it for the better part of junior year in high school. And I still get it occassionally.

Good times.

Lack of sleep, maybe? How much have you been sleeping?
Because that always happens to me when I have lack of sleep or being really, really tired.
