Hilton Head
 

I recently found out that in June me and a few others are going a short Homeland Security Mission in Hilton Head, South Carolina (at least, i think its in sc..).

I'll be there for a week or so. Anyone been there/live there got any suggestions of places to go to have some fun?

I love that place! Definitely check out the Fuddruckers restaurant and all of the little cafés around the streets. Lots of good shops, too. Excellent walking island.

Old South Golf Links, a phenomenal public golf course, Golf Digest magazine rates it one of the 10 best, and the fees are quite reasonable. (take lessons)
The Salty Dog Cafe, in the South beach marina has great music, good food and drink, and not too many tourists, so the prices are great.
The Crazy Crab Shack (or something like that) was a really cheap, really fun place to go for dinner, if ya like seafood, and the dessert menu was amazing.

There was also some nature preserve that had cruises to check out the local wildlife (ie alligators)

i bartended there from '86 -'90, and i concur with maleficent........salty dog cafe was one of the coolest spots when i was down there. the beach by the holday inn on was good for trolling.........

This is deffinetly not what I thought this thread would be about ;)
