Is carbonated water as good for you as regular water?
I'm just wondering if you can still get your daily intake of water if it's thats calorie-free carbonated schtuff, instead of uncarbonated water.

I heard a long time ago that carbonation is bad for the bones but I've never read anything that backs that up. But my gut tells me that plain old water is prolly better than carbonated water.

Carbonated water is more acidic than normal water, for what it is worth. It also happens to be MUCH harder to drink than normal water. =)
My "Canada Dry" club soda has as ingredients: Carbonated Water Sodium Bicarbonate Sodium Citrate DiSodium Phosphate Potassium Sulphate (they are probably things to make the water taste salty and/or are preservatives, I'd guess). |
I have also heard that cardonation is bad for who, but I've never heard why. I don't understand though why anyone drinks carbonated water. I just don't get it. I've tried it and it was so hard to drink (my boss offered me some, so I felt like I had to take it). What is it about that stuff?

I like it because it takes like soda (when it's flavoured)...yum yum.
|
um. it IS soda when it's flavored!

Well, when i was in germany I was walking on a hiking trail then after an hour there was this guy saling carbonated water, that was coming out of the ground so I bought some it was pretty cool, So they drink it like normal in germany so who knows well i dont know but I still drink it once in a while.

If it helps you drink more water in the course of a day...I say drink it up. |
actually, the soda is the carbonated water. It doesn't even have to be flavored to be a soda. It just has to be flavored to have a prayer of tasting good ;)

mineral water is probably better than tap water, cos I've been reading lots of us don't get enough magnesium and/or calcium, especially people who exercise a lot. The acid you get from dissolving carbon dioxide in water isn't really very strong, compared to what you keep in your stomach for digesting things.
