mood swings
Not sure where to begin with this. I guess I'll start by saying I'm in a relationship with an extremely wonderful woman - most of the time. She has some serious mood swings. We never have small fights. They might start out small, but they ALWAYS end up getting into huge overblown giant fights. She admits that she has a problem with getting over emotional about things, and that she over reacts, but it continues. She's constantly asked me for help but I'm not sure what to do. Is there any way to help her? The main problem is just staying calm. We can't seem to both stay calm about everything, usually it's her that gets mad, starts saying things that she doesn't mean and regrets them later.
Any help? please. |
Is she a red-head?
All kidding aside, she may have some sort of anger management issues. Maybe if you can sense a fight coming on, see if you can talk her down and out of it before the fight escalates. Be cool and collective, and ask her to talk about it after the emotions have gone through their paces. |

Redhead??
tehblaed I take offense to that you *#&*$ %*$&# %(*#($*@!!! Sorry, just kidding ;-) Anyway, you should help her with some suggestions, like watch her blood sugar, get the right amount of sleep (such a thing as too much), and watch stimulants like nicotine and caffeine. I didn't have mood swings, but I found doing these things greatly helped with keeping my mood nice and level. |
Not to get personal, but does she take birth control pills. A few years back, my wife was told by her doctor to take switch the pills she was taking. One she did, the mood swings kicked up a notch and it became un-bareable. We were fighting about the stupidest thinigs you could imagine. I told here she better call her doctor because the new pills were making her insane, & she thought I was insane for saying that. After more fighting she call her doctor & it turns out that certian birth control pills can give women very bad mood swings. Anyway, she switched types & everything was back to the norm.

I don't believe all mood swings require medical attention. I have lashed out and say things I don't mean and have regrets later. Haven't we all?
My solution for my swing is to breathe/stay calm/relax and remain silent until my head is level and I can speak in a respectful manner. |
possibly, her hormones could be out of whack like mine have been. I am now taking a Woman's Multi-Vitaman Supplement every day to balance out everything.
But take it easy with her, don't blame her, but be there for her, but let her know how you feel. |
