Fruits with Protein?

Well, I have a issue, you see where I eat lunch at most of the time the people around me arent very fond of the chicken/tuna smell so ive been banned from eating chicken/tuna for lunch, which unfortunatley makes it hard to get all the protein I desire in a day. So im curious, does anyone know if there are any fruits that contain a decent amount of protein? I looked at strawberrys and bananas and they have a tiny bit but no where near the amount I was getting from the can of chicken. Or if someone has a way to somehow lessen the smell of tuna/chicken without using alot of lysol afterwards it would be helpful. Or if there are no fruits does anyone know any semi-portable foods that dont need a fridge for about 4 hours to stay good?

Also, does anyone have any good tuna brand recommendations? I dont want to start a new thread or find the tuna thread, but I read alot about mercury and it figures the albacore white, which I eat is the dangerous stuff, ive never tried any other brands but ide be willing to look for a different one if someone knew another kind.

Thanks ~

Two tablespoons of peanut butter, the amount in a thin-to-average peanut butter sandwich, provides about 8 grams of protein. It does carry more calories than chicken but it has the protein you are looking for and doesn't have the smell. If you want to get away from the sugary jelly on the sandwich you can use the peanut butter on celery, banana and peanut butter sandwich, or even on crackers or rice cakes. Just one suggestion.

Fruit aren't big on protein. Peanuts, which raenna talks about, aren't fruit and aren't even nuts: they're a legume, or bean. However, there is protein in them, and in other nuts (like cashews, which aren't exactly nuts either, but lets not go there).

If you're not worried about carbs, here's a meat-free eat-at-the-office lunch that has a _lot_ of protein.

1. Take some cooked brown rice and put it in a large microwaveable lunch container; your choice how much.

2. Get some frozen veggies out of the freezer and mix them into the rice, still frozen.

3. Throw some diced tofu into the bowl on top of everything -- a lot.

4. Seal the bowl and take it to work. Take a sack of unsalted cashews with you. Don't bother to refrigerate, the frozen veggies will keep it cold for hours.

5. Put the bowl in the microwave and nuke it. Might take 4 or 5 minutes.

6. Take it out, throw a _generous_ heap of cashews on top.

7. Eat with soy sauce, plum sauce, or both.

May not be the low-carb meal 'o your dreams, but you _will_ get a whole protein between the tofu, rice, and cashews, and a lot of it. Tastes good too, especially with plum sauce. This was my noon at-work meal for a couple of years.

Isn't there like a 40-50g limit to how much protein you can digest before your body starts to store the excess as fat?

Sounds like your coworkers need to get over themselves. I can understand tuna if you are cooking it or something, but chicken??? please. can you take your lunch somewhere else away from these easily offended hippies?

another quick and eays protien fixes that I use during my work day is hard boiled eggs (just the whites). Lo-cal, hi-protien and easy to digest.
