Who do you confide in?
When you have things weighing you down, who do you confide in? Who do you talk to, where do you look for someone to give advice or to just, you know, be there.
I need some ideas... |
My two or three best friends.
One's been there for me since early highschool, and I know that I can go to him with almost anything for a listening ear and, if I want, sound advice. The other's on this board, and is almost always available at any hour of the day or night to talk to. He's a hell of a guy, and I know I can talk to him about whatever's buggin me, and he knows I'll do the same for him. |
Two friends who I can say anything to wihtout worrying. Nobody else. I let a bit slip to other people, but my full self is only shown to hose two friends, and evn then, I don't mention some stuff.
I suppose I don't really trust anyone |
Sort of depends on the subject matter.
Mostly, my "roomie" group--two girls I live with now, and the two guys who are moving w/ us next year. My ex boyfriend, who's from my hometown and also attends the same college, is also a confidant. Things I can't talk about with my friends...stuff I feel is either too personal, or I can't express properly...I take to my Blog or here, to the TFP. |
I have two close friends who are always around. One just simply knows me so well it's creepy, and the other has been in my life since I was 14 so we've been through a lot together.
|
One friend online, and two best friends in real life. Though thats not all the time, i keep most of my issues to myself...
|
My wife mostly unless she is too close to the subject and then I confide in my tech at work (who is among my better friends).
|
I'm happy to say Lebell. This is a true gift as I've always wanted my partner to be my best friend too. That wasn't true with the ex. I have plenty of close girlfriends -- but Lebell is my main support and confidant. He is such a blessing to my life!
|
My ex-girlfriend :)
Or when I feel that she is not 'available' I usually find comfort in God, one of my older brothers, or beer :) |
My wife is my best friend and confidante... however, this creates a problem when there is something I want to talk about that I don't want to share with her...
I don't seem to have any other friends. I'm not sure how this happened. I used to have them. I used to hang out. It's odd. |
damn near no one...
|
Wife and my male best friend (since my wife is one of my best friends).
|
my wife, my sister, my parents, my bestfriend
but then again there's also a part of me that keeps it inside and i'm the only one who knows. |
My mommy gets a lot of ear bending from me. If it wasnt for here, I'ld prolly have flipped my wig by now. If not her, one of my two best friends ( one guy, one girl). And if not them, I am involved in an organization that meets once a week and I can get shit of my chest there.
|
My best friend, my wife. Yeah, it sounds corny and sickly sweet, but, it's true. She is my best friend. Hell, she's my ONLY friend. Of course, I can't really tell her about my lust for my co-workers, but, she's probably figured that out. Hell, I've been lusting after her sisters for 20 odd years now.
|
The following people can hear anything:
my husband, my sister, my friends Deb and Steve and Lesley I confide in other people (my mom, my neighbor Holly) about some stuff but not others. |
Hey Charlatan, I know that feeling. All mine disappeared after I started dating my wife. They must have been turned off by our PDAs. One day I looked up and they were ALL gone. It was pretty freaky since my wife and I tried again and again to get them to come to the house or to meet up somewhere. It's not like we dumped them.

My SO. Unfortunately right now she's the only one that I trust that much.
|
<-- another 'almost no one'...
I've just pretty much been a 'I keep my issues to myself, thx' kind of person. (only-child complex i think).. :) |
My mom and my best friend...occasionally my husband, but he's definitely not a talker, so if I'm looking for feedback, he's not the one to go to. Most of it gets poured into either my online journal or my "old fashioned" pen-and-paper journal.
|
I have a sister who is just a year younger than me who I can tell anything to. After hating each other for our entire childhood we have finally become really good friends. If I there is anything I can't say to her I put it in my journal.

My boyfriend and my sister...It needs to be someone you feel so compltely comfortable with, and someone you know wont judge you. Those are my people....
|
One of my really close guy friends, my two older cousins that are like brothers, and one of my few friends from high school I stayed in touch with.
|
Mostly a keep things to myself person, but the few times I've really needed help or suggestions, I turned to the members and experience here at TFP.
|
My wife. When I have things I don't want to talk about with my wife, I pack them into a small ball and keep that ball in the pit of my stomach. Hello, acid reflux disease!
|
My husband, and mother, and a pen & notebook.
|
My sister, mom, best friend, and girlfriend.
That's about it. |
I usually keep things to my self. If I have to get something out, I keep an onging word document that i can let my rants out.
|
I confide in my friend Dan who lives in another state, and I've only met him once. We've been talking online for about 3 years now.
And my female friend Z (name shortened) who lives in Scotland. We went to high school together in another country and still keep in contact online and on the phone. I've known her for about 7 years now, she's my oldest friend :) |
my ex-girlfriend. which probably isn't a good thing, considering i broke up with her. and i think she gets annoyed from it too
|
Any time I need to talk to someone I always go to my fiance. He is my bestfriend. He knows everything about me and I know everything about him. We never keep things from each other and we trust each other completely.
|
pretty much noone.
probably my parents if its very serious. otherwise i figure it out for myself. |
I've got two very close friends. One who I've known since about 3rd grade, the other, well he and I just think the same. All to many times we both say the same thing at the same time, especially while talking online. It's frightening.

In fact.. :icare: there ya go TFP its the only one you get, so make it last. |
I'm another damn near no one person. Lately a lot of trust has been broken, mostly through half-truths more than lies. Seems as though every time I open up to someone, it comes back to bite my ass. I'm learning to open up and trust someone right now.... we'll see what happens, I guess.
