How many calories are in a egg?

Just curious I know eggs have alot of protein etc but whenever I try to search for eggs calorie count they all vary alot so Im wondering anyone got a guess on how many calories an egg has and how many calories a egg with only the white has?

Lately, I have been eatting 6 eggs but only 2 yolks the other 4 are whites is this healthy or ? I know it has calories I just wanna make sure im not wasting calories (I also add a bit of milk and cottage cheese and then soak out any butter etc after I cook them.

based off a large egg:
total calories 76
total protein 6.25 grams

Egg White
17 calories
3.52 grams protein
0 grams fat
0 Cholesterol

Egg Yolk:
59 calories
2.78 grams protein
4 grams fat
2 mg Cholesterol

See why egg whites are for the win?

Thanks plan, I knew egg whites were good however now I dont have to feel guilty about eating 6 egg whites/2 yolks for breakfast ^^ figured they had like 400 calories overall but Im not complaining about it being closer to 200. Shame that about half the protein is in the yolk but since you can eat 5 whites for 1 yolk I think my 2 yolks / 6 egg white breakfast is working pretty good, funny thing is you cant even tell a taste difference since I use a bit of salt and a few spices to make it taste nice.

Woulda looked it up myself but it was becoming quite a pain since every site I went to would come up with like 9 different statistics and I didnt know which was which.

( My entire diet is totally screwed since tommorow is the super-bowl im never gonna survive with my parents cooking chili-dogs, cheese dip, ranch dip, meatballs, and a bunch of really good stuff. Ill just blame the scales randomness the next morning when I weigh myself though haha.

Enjoy the Superbowl crap food, I know I sure will :). The next day make sure to get back into your good eating habits.

hehe ya plan im already counting how many chips / hotdogs / whatever I can eat so I only get aprox 3 k calories and even then I havnt had any fatting food in so long I hope I dont just puke it all up. Only thing im cringing is the fact that I have to check the scale the next morning ^^ But I exercised extra hard last night and lost half a pound and im so want something good today im gonna gain 2 probaly.

Hehe well enjoy the superbowl everyone and *cough* blame the randomness of the scale if you gain a pound or two thats what I do ^^ it gets back on track in about a week of work ;p

To shorten my breakfast preparation time, do I lose anything if I crack and beat my eggs and refridgerate them the night before?

Throw out the scale, they do a bad job at painting the real picture. Use it sparingly just for curiosity sake. Instead, invest in some bodyfat calipers and a nice full body mirror... those are a lot more accurate then any scale.

What are body fat calipers? my scale does bodyfat and weight however im not to satisfied honestly, I weigh myself every few days and I know Im losing weight/bodyfat (mainly cause my pants are falling down ><) however the bodyfat never changes, sometimes even goes up. However, other days I weigh myself and its down a ton now I know drinking water can change it but depending on the day/time my bodyfat varies by like 10%, so can you give me a link or something to the calipers? Honestly, I dont care about my weight anymore more in aim of raising muscle/ losing some fat, hoping these may be a bit more accurate.

Here is what a body fat caliper looks like:

You can get a digital one too but it costs a lot more.

Your electronic scale does a rough guess on your bodyfat and those things are extremely innacurate. So innacurate that I cannot believe they market them saying they work. Point proven just by your fluctuation of 10% on day and night. It takes weeks of strict nutrition to move just 1% below their current bodyfat % :)

I use my scale once a month for shits and giggles and I use my bodyfat calipers twice a month to make sure I am not gaining any fat. I use the mirror everyday :D.

It's a shame that a lot of egg yolks would get wasted then :(
(since nobody wants the extra chlosteral and fat etc).

Aren't the omega-3 fatty acids (and omega 6's) found in the yolks?

I usually have whole eggs, 2 on a workout day, but from a general standpoint it seems a shame to waste all those yolks? Or do you use them for something else?

i let my doggies have a few (its good for their fur) :p. Other than that, I throw em away. It's no different then trimming the fat off of a steak.
